From a BS6-compliant engine to new features, here’s everything you need to know about the 2020 Radeon

The launch of the 2020 Radeon brings TVS one step closer to completing its BS6 portfolio. It’s available in two variants - drum and disc. Here’s everything you need to know about the BS6 Radeon.

Gets a BS6-compliant engine:

Despite having a small Eco Thrust 110cc engine, the Radeon features fuel-injection. This helps the motor extract 15 per cent better fuel efficiency compared to the BS4 model. The 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine has been retuned to make 8.19PS (0.21PS lower than before) at 7350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4500rpm. It continues to use the same 4-speed transmission as before.

Retains the same hardware:

The bike retains the same suspension setup as before - a telescopic fork and a twin shock absorber. The same goes for its braking configuration which consists of a 240mm disc/130mm drum brake up front and a  110mm drum brake at the rear paired with CBS.

Weighs more:

Thanks to the additional equipment and fuel injection, the bike's put on 4kg, pushing the kerb weight of the bike to 116kg for the drum variant. The disc brake model, on the other hand, tips the scale at 118kg kerb.

Gets malfunction indicator light:

The 2020 update for the Radeon brings with it a malfunction indicator light positioned in the analogue instrument cluster which indicates if there’s anything wrong with the engine.
