TVS Orbiter vs Bajaj Chetak 3001: Best Budget Electric Scooter Is…

We compare the features of TVS and Bajaj’s cheapest EVs

The recently launched TVS Orbiter, and the Bajaj Chetak 3001 are two most affordable electric scooters from their respective brands in India. Which one has a lot more to offer in terms of features, you wonder? Well, you’ve come to the right place!

Starting off, here we have a detailed comparison of what each has to offer in terms of connected features and riding aids:

Overall in terms of connected features and riding aids, the TVS Orbiter seems like a much better deal, especially considering the fact that they all come as standard. The console is also larger and easier to read compared to the cramped info in Chetak’s round console. With the Bajaj Chetak 3001, all the additional features can only be unlocked with the TecPac, which costs around Rs 8,000 for 5 years.

That said, the Chetak with the TecPac has quite a lot of convenience features on offer, such as the ability to accept/reject calls and music controls. We think these features will come in handy a lot more than something like a cruise control. That’s because using cruise control in Indian traffic will not be easy, as there will be very few instances where one gets uninterrupted stretches of road, especially in rush hours.

Other than these features, the scooters both offer spacious underseat storage options. Here’s a breakdown:

Model

Storage Capacity

TVS Orbiter

34 litres

Bajaj Chetak 3001

35 litres

Both of the scooters offer similar levels of storage, and can easily handle most of your daily needs.

Price & Verdict

The TVS Orbiter is priced at Rs 99,999, whereas the Chetak 3001 costs Rs 99,990 (both prices are ex-showroom Bengaluru, including PM E-Drive subsidy).

From the comparison, it is clear that the TVS Orbiter offers better value for money than the Chetak, especially considering the fact that you’ll have to shell out extra every few years for the extra features in the Chetak. If features are a priority, then the new TVS Orbiter ticks all the right boxes. If you want a no-nonsense e-scooter with good underseat storage and don’t mind having fancy features, then the Chetak is the one to go for.

I choose this bike because, I heard from someone electric bike is more value for money, first I thought there will not so much difference then I search, I saw it so value for money and I adviced to buy a chetak. My ride was so far because this EV is the most value for money fuel, first I was using a bike of 160 cc it's average for me was very less in 1 litre petrol it goes nearly 25 to 27 km but, I have taken EV so no need to go for petrol thanks. Go for it , It's a good bike

Good pickup, stylish design as the colour combination looks futuristic. TVS is a big brand, so service is very good and easy to find. Built quality is also one of the good reason to pickup this bike. It gives great experience. The range is a big concern while going to college. Except that, everything is very good like the pickup while overtaking vehicles, durability during pot-holes and a suspension works good. Yes, If you are looking for good service, take a look of this, may be the price and range doesn't match but the service and experience is very good. So I recommend this bike for short range travellers who don't want ot take risk.Read More
