TVS iQube Electric vs Ola S1 Pro: Top-End Variants Price Comparison

The TVS iQube Electric and the Ola S1 Pro are premium electric scooters suitable for both, family, and younger riders. Over the years, their model range has expanded various different variants. The TVS iQube is a well-designed and stylish commuter scooter. Its sharp and cohesive design lines add a hint of sportiness to the overall look The Walnut Brown, Titanium Grey and Pearl White colour options give the scooter a modern look while the Starlight Blue-Biege and Copper Brown-Biege colour options give a classic look to the electric scooter. 

The 3.5kWh capacity battery pack gives the scooter a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 145km. The 4.4kW motor allows for a top speed of 78kmph. The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork and twin rear shock absorbers while the breaking setup consists of a 220mm front disc brake and a 130mm rear drum brake. It takes 4 hours and 40 minutes (claimed) to charge the battery from 0-80%. 

The iQube 3.5kWh variant gets a 5-inch TFT instrument console that displays speed, an odometer, a trip meter, battery percentage, range, time , and other regular readouts. It supports Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation. The scooter has two riding modes: Eco and Power. Other features include a USB charging port, anti-theft alert, crash and fall alert and a 32-litre underseat storage space.  

Ola S1 Pro 4kWh

Price: Rs 1,44,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru)

The Ola S1 Pro has a sportier design and has the specifications and features that match the looks. The 4kWh capacity battery gives it an IDC claimed range of 242km and the 11kW motor allows a top speed of 125kmph with a 0-40kmph acceleration time of 2.7 seconds. It takes 4 hours and 30 minutes (claimed) to charge the battery from 0-80%. 

The suspension setup consists of a telescopic fork and a monoshock while braking duties are taken care of by a disc brake at both ends. The S1 Pro offers better safety here as the iQube’s 3.5kWh variant is only available with a rear drum brake.  

The 7-inch TFT instrument console shows speedometer, odometer, trip meter, range, battery percentage, clock and other regular readouts. The console offers Bluetooth connectivity for calls and SMS alerts, OTA updates, Whatsapp messages, live cricket scores and music controls. You can also play music through the scooter’s in-built speakers. It offers full-fledged navigation with Ola Maps. Other features on offer include traction control (prevents the rear wheel from spinning uncontrollably on gravel surfaces or under sudden acceleration), tow and theft alerts (also available on the iQube Electric), cruise control and hill-hold assist (keeps the scooter stationary without the need to apply brakes when you stop on a slope). The last feature is a big miss in the iQube as it makes everyday riding very convenient. The S1 Pro offers four riding modes: Hyper, Sports, Normal & Eco. 

Which One’s The Better Buy?

The TVS iQube Electric is the more affordable of the two scooters and there is a reason for that. It offers a lesser claimed range, lower top speed, less features, and a slightly smaller boot space (32 litres compared to the S1 Pro’s 34-litre underseat storage space). While being  Rs 36,000 more expensive, the S1 Pro offers sportier looks, sportier performance and handling characteristics and one of the most extensive feature list.

The TVS iQube is quite good for regular office commutes, or urban runabouts. It has a good range, and a decent set of features that make it quite useful for any adult in the family. It’s also cheaper than the S1 Pro, which gives it a fantastic value if you aren’t looking particularly for a sporty scooter. 

And that is the primary difference between the two scooters. The Ola S1 Pro is meant for someone who wants a sporty scooter, while the iQube is more family-oriented.
