From an electric scooter that has 300+ km claimed range to a stylish electric bike that’ll grab attention, here are our top 5 picks

    BikedDekho News

World EV Day is here, and this year, we have compiled a list of the top 5 electric two-wheelers which offer the highest range under Rs 1.5 lakh. The list will include both bikes and scooters from a variety of different brands, catering to different needs.

That said, it is important to note that these ranges listed here are claimed figures from the manufacturer, so real-world range may vary.

    Komaki XR7

The Komaki XR7 is an electric scooter which stands out thanks to the insane 322km claimed range. That’s just a bit above the distance from Mumbai to Pune and back! Of course, you may not be able to cover the distance between the two cities in the real world as the route isn’t exactly a long, flat stretch of road. The scooter comes at a price of Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom), making it one of the most affordable long-range scooters in the country.

    BikedDekho News

It gets a retro-inspired design and styling which looks similar to what we have seen on older Italian scooters. But Komaki has given it a slightly modern touch with the LED headlight and DRLs. Powering this scooter is a 3kW hub motor with a claimed top speed of 55kmph. It gets a 4.5kWh battery pack. The e-scooter is also quite practical, with convenience bits like the large 30-litre underseat storage.

    BikedDekho News

Overall, in terms of maximum claimed range, the Komaki XR7 takes the cake, but the limited top speed may not be adequate for some, and Komaki also doesn’t have as widespread dealer and service network as other mainstream brands. That said, if you’re looking for an extremely affordable e-scooter with a generous claimed range, and if you’re within where Komaki operates, then the XR7 might be an option to consider.

    Ola S1 X 4kWh

The Ola S1 X 4kWh is the top-spec subvariant in Ola Electric’s third-gen S1 X lineup. It features the typical Ola scooter design and looks similar to the S1 Pro, but it gets a smaller headlight cowl instead of a full-length handlebar cowl. It gets a large 4kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 242km. The Ola S1 X 4kWh is priced at Rs 1,06,999 (ex-showroom).

    BikedDekho News

Powering the scooter is an 11kW (peak) motor, which offers a claimed top speed of 125kmph, which puts it much further ahead than its competition, at least on paper. The scooter also offers quite a lot of features, including smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts. Along with this, the brand has also offered essential riding aids such as hill hold assist, reverse mode and cruise control. The scooter also comes with a massive 34-litre underseat storage, which can easily accommodate all your groceries and other essentials.

    Simple OneS

The Simple OneS is a slightly more premium offering compared to the others, coming at a price of Rs 1,39,999 (ex-showroom). Being a performance-oriented electric scooter, it has a sharp and sporty design. It is powered by a 3.7kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed range of 181km.

    BikedDekho News

Powering the scooter is an 8.5kW mid-mounted motor, offering a claimed top speed of 105kmph. The scooter is quite feature-packed, with a 7-inch touch screen instrument console, with 5G e-SIM, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. It also gets connected features such as full-fledged navigation, call/SMS alerts and even OTA (over the air) updates. It even gets a tyre pressure monitoring system as standard.

While all the claimed specifications are pretty impressive, do note that Simple Energy has a limited number of showrooms. Currently, there are only 15 showrooms spread out across major cities like Kochi, Bengaluru, Goa, Pune, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and Vizag, among others. The company is planning on expanding its network, with more showrooms opening by the end of March 2026. So if you’re looking for a sporty e-scooter with good range, the answer is ‘Simple’, or if you’re living in a different location, then you might just have to wait a bit more for the ‘One(S)’

    Oben Rorr EZ

The Oben Rorr EZ has a proper bike-like design, and is meant for those who are looking for a stylish commuter with good range. The bike looks pretty tasteful with the neo-retro styling featuring a round LED headlight.

Oben Rorr EZ Gets 8 Year/80,000Km Battery Warranty Plan

The Rorr EZ is powered by a 7.5kW motor which offers a claimed top speed of 95kmph - adequate city commutes. It gets a 4.4kWh fixed battery pack in the top-end variant which offers a claimed range of 175km. This variant of the bike comes at a price of Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom).

It also gets a decent set of features, including riding modes, and safety features such as geo-fencing. The Oben Rorr EZ is a perfect e-bike for those who want a no-nonsense electric bike that can handle their daily commutes. Oben currently operates 50 showrooms spread acorss 15 states and 37 cities across India, and plans to expand its presence a lot more with a target of 150 showrooms down the line.

    River Indie

The River Indie is often dubbed as the ‘SUV’ of scooters, thanks to its massive storage space. The scooter gets a 43-litre underseat storage, along with a 12-litre lockable glove box, as well as a large floorboard to stow luggage. With all this, the River Indie seems to be the ultimate utility-focused e-scooter. It comes at a price of Rs 1,44,259 (ex-showroom Bengaluru).

    BikedDekho News

The scooter is powered by a 6.7kW mid-mounted motor offering a claimed top speed of 90kmph. The 4kWh battery pack is good for a claimed range of 161km, which is adequate to handle commutes or cargo runs. The scooter is currently sold via 20-odd dealerships in the following cities: Bengaluru, Chennai, Hubli, Visakhapatnam, Kochi and Mysuru. The brand has been planning on expanding into more cities such as Pune, Vijayawada and Trivandrum soon.

    Honourable Mention - TVS Orbiter

The TVS Orbiter is one scooter which we cannot help but mention, as it manages to tick all the right boxes. It is affordable, at the price of Rs 99,900 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru) and is available at a wide range of TVS dealerships across the country.

    BikedDekho News

The Orbiter is powered by a 3.1kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 158km. The 2.1kW motor helps the e-scooter reach a claimed top speed of 68kmph. It gets a colour LCD console with smartphone connectivity for turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts. There are electronic riding aids on offer as well such as hill-hold assist, cruise control and riding modes. It also gets a spacious 32-litre underseat storage.

    BikedDekho News

Overall, the TVS Orbiter manages to offer a complete package ticking all the right boxes as far as practicality, price, service availability and range are concerned. You will just have to be wary of the somewhat limited claimed top speed of 68kmph.

Main gaon me rehta hu aur hamare yahan se city kaafi dur hai. Isliye maine Ola S1 X li taki roz ke kaam aur city aane-jane me petrol ka kharcha bache. Ab tak scooter accha chal raha hai. Go for it , It's a good bike
Good pickup, stylish design as the colour combination looks futuristic. TVS is a big brand, so service is very good and easy to find. Built quality is also one of the good reason to pickup this bike. It gives great experience. The range is a big concern while going to college. Except that, everything is very good like the pickup while overtaking vehicles, durability during pot-holes and a suspension works good. Yes, If you are looking for good service, take a look of this, may be the price and range doesn't match but the service and experience is very good. So I recommend this bike for short range travellers who don't want ot take risk.
