It was spotted with two other modified FZ-Xs

What do you do if you’re bitten by the off-road bug, but own a Yamaha FZ-X? Well, here’s one possible solution – modify your bike with off-road parts inspired by the Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Spotted at a Yamaha showroom in Kerala, this Yamaha bike features off-road and scrambler elements while also sporting touring accessories. Yes, you read that right. The Yamaha FZ-X we’re talking about here sports an off-road front fender and suspension picked off the Hero XPulse 200 4V’s parts bin.

Along with this, it gets a visor and seat borrowed from the Himalayan, while also donning some custom parts like the scrambler-ish side panels, pannier stays and fuel-can mounting brackets. Rolling on wire-spoke rims and wrapped in chunky Ceat knobbies, this modified Yamaha bike definitely looks ready to hit the trails.

In addition to this bike, there were two other modified FZ-Xs, one of which is the same scrambler that we covered earlier this year. This scrambler rendition of the FZ-X is done by Hyderabad-based Eimor Customs, who participated in the Customise FZ-X challenge and also won by completing the project in 30 days.

The third custom bike seen is a brat-track-style bike that features upside down fork and chunky tyres in line with the styling. It is likely that all the three bikes were part of the same contest. That said, the mechanicals of all three bikes are expected to be the same as the stock Yamaha FZ-X, in the form of a 149cc, single-cylinder mill, producing 12.4PS and 13.3Nm.

Given the scale of customisation seen of these bikes, it would’ve been nice to see the mechanicals tuned for better performance. Expect the adventure to cost substantially more than the stock bike, which retails at Rs 1,33,900 (ex-showroom Delhi).
