Quick Highlights:
- Simple Energy offers an 8-year or 60,000 km warranty on its scooter's battery and motor.
- The scooters are available for pre-booking.
- Lots of pre-bookings so far, but deliveres haven't started in full swing yet
Simple Energy, a Bangalore-based EV startup, has introduced two extended warranty programs for its electric scooters: Simple Protect and Simple Super Protect. Simple Protect covers the battery, while Simple Super Protect extends coverage to both the battery and motor. These warranties are particularly notable for offering up to 8 years or 60,000 km of protection, whichever comes first.
The company offers two electric scooters: the Simple One and the Simple Dot One. The Simple One comes with a 5kWh battery, delivering a peak power of 11PS (8.5kW) and 72Nm. Simple Energy claims the scooter can achieve a range of 212km on a full charge and reach a top speed of 105kmph. The Simple One is priced at Rs 1,66,064 . On the other hand, the Simple Dot One is powered by a 3.7kWh battery pack, also producing 11PS and 72Nm. The Dot One has a claimed range of 151km and the same top speed of 105 kmph, priced at Rs 1,45,499 .
In addition to these models, Simple Energy has also mentioned two new electric scooters: the Simple One X priced at Rs 1,71,079 and the Simple Dot One X Rs 1,50,395 (all prices ex-showroom, Bangalore, inclusive of Rs 10,000 subsidy). While the company has revealed the prices for these scooters, they have not provided any specifications. It appears that the Simple One X will be a higher variant of the Simple One, and the Simple Dot One X will be positioned as an upgraded version of the Simple Dot One, likely sitting between the two current models.
Since the scooter was reviewed two years ago, Simple has received more than 1 lakh pre-bookings. With 6 dealerships already open across the country, and more on the way, it looks like Simple Energy will start getting into full swing of delivering the scooters. As of this moment, we haven't received any detailed numbers from the company about how many scooters have been delivered till now.
