The custom bike gets a similar body design as the Himalayan and a 2-to-1 side-slung exhaust

UK-based Cooperb Motorcycles has converted the much loved RE Interceptor 650 into a full-blown adventure motorcycle, similar to the Royal Enfield's Himalayan. The custom build is called the Interlayan 650.

The major alterations are on the body. It gets an aftermarket body kit, including a chiselled fuel tank like the one on the Himalayan. The bike gets a custom handlebar, along with the headlight, windscreen, front fender and beak from the Himalayan, and a tank brace that looks similar to the one on the original ADV. Other additions include saddle stays with tail rack and twin hard-case panniers, hand-guards, bash plate, and rear-view mirrors.

Changes to the mechanicals include new wire-spoked wheels with a gold finish and dual-purpose tyres. The front suspension comes with fork gaiters, whereas the rear twin gas-charged shock absorbers appear aftermarket units. One major modification is the 2-to-1 side-slung exhaust with an 'S&S' end can (instead of the twin exhaust setup on the stock Interceptor).

Many things on the Interlayan remain the same as the standard Interceptor, including the twin-pod instrument cluster, switchgear, and the 650cc parallel-twin, oil-cooled engine (paired with a six-speed transmission) producing 47PS and 52Nm

Royal Enfield is working on a more powerful Himalayan, but this custom job seems ideal for enthusiasts who don't want to wait around for too long. Overall, the Interlayan's mods not only look cool but are functional at the same time.

Even though the bike has gone under a lot of modifications, the modifier says that the project is not yet finished and primarily will get a new seat setup, side stand and body graphics soon. Let us know what you think about this build in the comments.
