Honda CT125 Patented In India. Should It Be Launched Here?

  • Honda is known to patent its global products in India.
  • Most of them do not turn up usually.
  • The CT125 is based on the popular Super Cub.
  • If Honda does get this puny warrior to India, it will carry a premium pricing.

The Honda CT 125 Concept was one of the cutest little things on two-wheels at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. While Honda has made some changes to the production-spec moped, the CT125 Hunter Cub, it still retains its funky looks, making us want to zip around town on something similar. Honda India has now gotten us a little more excited as it has patented the off-road capable moped in the country.

But if truth be told, our excitement would most likely meet a sad end as Honda is known to patent almost all of its global products in India even though it has no intention to bring them to our shores. While the chances of CT125 Hunter Cub are slim, we wish Honda Indianises it, perhaps with the peppier tune of the Activa 125 engine. That said, its last attempt to Indianise a small quirky motorcycle didn’t meet with as much success as it would have imagined, the Navi failing to excite the Indian audiences.

Honda India is yet to take a call on launching the CT125 Hunter Cub in India but what is concrete is that It will soon be launching the updated version of its stylish 125cc scooter, the Grazia 125. The teasers of the BS6 Grazia were put out yesterday and here’s what it could pack.
