The venerable underbone motorcycle, the Honda Super Cub, has received a staggering transformation into a hip scrambler, called the Baja Cub by K-Speed, a Thailand-based custom house.

The commuter-ish bodywork has been replaced by a sporty-looking minimalistic set with perforation on the apron, presumably to show how the scrambler is serious about weight reduction. It even gets a slammed, wide handlebar with flip switches and a modern, full-LCD instrument cluster nestled right below it. The front and rear fenders have been chopped and the Baja Cub uses an old-school looking twin headlamp setup with a pair of headlamp grille, as opposed to a circular headlamp integrated into the handlebar cowl. K-Speed has chucked the commuter-ish looking single-piece seat in favour of a premium-looking solo quilted seat and a luggage rack at the back. It nicely complements the high-set scrambler-style exhaust on the right-hand side and the hipster-looking skateboard rack on the left-hand side.

Rounding off things at the rear is a tiny swingarm-mounted LED tail lamp and a side-mounted licence plate. While the front fork looks similar to the stock version (albeit finished in black), the rear ones are a different set of units, preload-adjustable ones at that. While drum brakes on both ends seem to be stock, the 17-inch blacked out spoke wheels roll on much more aggressive 100-section knobby tyres on both ends. This should ensure the Baja Cub can handle trails effortlessly.

The 109.5cc single-cylinder air-cooled, fuel-injected engine appears to be untouched. In its stock form, it produces 7.8PS and 8.5Nm. It may not be much but we reckon with the minimalistic panels in the Baja Cub, the motor should be plenty fun. And oh, this is not just a one-off as K-Speed will be making 59 of these, on a made-to-order basis. Let us know what you guys think of this custom in the comments below.
