Honda has filed a design patent for the UC3 electric scooter in India, just weeks after the brand showcased its QC3 electric scooter. The UC3 is currently sold in countries like Thailand and Vietnam. It has a more spacious and premium design compared to other electric scooters in Honda’s lineup. Here’s all you need to know:
What Does The Patent Reveal?
The patent images show a maxi-style scooter with a large single-piece seat, an LED headlight with integrated LED DRLs, curvy body panels, a flat floorboard, and a windscreen to deflect wind at higher speeds.
The scooter gets a telescopic fork and monoshock, rides on 12-inch wheels at both ends, and gets a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
Internationally, the UC3 gets a 3.2 kWh Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) fixed battery pack with a claimed range of up to 122 km. It is powered by a 6 kW (peak) electric motor and has a claimed top speed of 80 kmph. Honda says it offers performance comparable to a 160cc petrol-powered scooter. It can be charged from 0-80% in 1 hour 45 minutes using a 1200 W fast charger
In terms of features, the scooter gets a 5-inch TFT console with Honda RoadSync, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS alerts, three riding modes, reverse mode, switchable traction control, USB Type-C charging port, and keyless start. All of which makesit quite a feature-loaded scooter.

The design filing by Honda does not directly confirm that the UC3 will launch in India, as the company could simply be protecting its Intellectual Property (IP). However, the scooter’s premium design, features and claimed range make it an interesting proposition. If launched, it could sit alongside the QC3 as a more premium offering and rival scooters like the Keeway Hypevolt R and River Indie.
