Overview
The Keeway Hypevolt R is the brand's first premium electric scooter for India. It has a futuristic design and offers a long list of features. It is priced at Rs 1.99 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom).
Design
The scooter gets a sporty, angular design that will appeal to younger buyers. It features vertically stacked dual projector headlights, along with unique boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. It gets minimalistic side panels and split grab rails. Overall, the scooter has chunky proportions, giving it a strong road presence. However, it gets a large central tunnel instead of a flat floorboard, which limits practicality a bit. It is offered in two colour options: Crystal White and Platinum Grey.

The scooter gets a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and Bluetooth-based OTA (Over The Air) updates. It gets three riding modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport, along with a reverse mode and even a rear parking camera (a bit of an overkill for a scooter in our opinion). It also gets cruise control, along with both USB Type-A and USB Type-C charging ports.
Safety Features
The scooter is equipped with dual-channel ABS along with traction control. It also gets additional safety features such as hill hold assist, hill descent control, and a blind-spot detection system. Optional live location tracking and geo-fencing are also available for added security.

Motor & Performance
The Keeway Hypevolt R is powered by a mid-mounted motor that produces 6kW of continuous power and a peak output of 12kW and 72Nm. Keeway claims the scooter can accelerate from 0-40kmph in 2.3 seconds in Sport mode and has a top speed of 115kmph, making it one of the fastest electric scooters in India.
Battery & Range
It gets dual removable battery packs with a combined capacity of 5.04kWh. The brand claims an IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of 180km, although a real-world range of around 150km can be expected. The batteries can be charged from 0-80% in 3 hours (claimed) using the onboard charger, and they can also be removed and charged at home in case you have charging infrastructure issues outside.
Handling & Ride Quality
Chassis, Suspension, and Brakes
The scooter gets a telescopic fork and dual 5-step preload-adjustable rear shock absorbers. There are disc brakes at both ends, along with dual-channel ABS for additional safety. It uses large 14-inch wheels wrapped in 100/80-section front and 120/70-section rear tyres. The scooter has an accessible seat height of 770mm, a rather low ground clearance of 130mm, and a kerb weight of 140kg.
