Overview
The BGauss C12 MaxR is an electric scooter built around a conventional family-friendly scooter design. Launched in September 2026, the BGauss C12 MaxR is also the brand’s most premium electric scooter, slotting in just below the BGauss RUV 350. It’s built on the brand’s all-new platform designed to be modular enough for multiple variations of the scooter.
Design
The C12 MaxR gets full LED lighting across the board, including a projector headlight. The seat carries subtle quilting, which is a small touch but adds a bit of polish. It comes in four colours: Sparkling Wine with Champagne Gold, Terra Green with Champagne Gold, Pearl White, and Satin Black.

Features
Safety Features
It gets several practical bits to ensure safety. The FallSense feature detects if the scooter has toppled and sends an alert. Both the side stand and main stand come with a motor cut-off, so the scooter won't move while either is down. Regenerative braking helps slow the scooter while topping up the battery a little in the process. Braking duties are handled by a 220 mm front disc and a 130 mm rear drum brake with CBS (combined braking). The battery carries an IP67 rating, so light rain or splashing through a puddle should not be a concern.

Convenience Features
It gets a reverse mode that helps back out of tight parking spots without wrestling the scooter around physically. Cruise mode holds a set speed on longer stretches. There's a Distance-to-Empty readout, and service reminders so you're not guessing when the next check-up is due. If the battery runs low, limp-home mode caps the speed so you can still make it back. The scooter also remembers your last riding mode, so you're not resetting preferences every time you switch it on. Parents can lock a lower top speed for newer riders through parental lock. The BGauss app adds SecureLock (lock/unlock from your phone), firmware updates, vehicle health checks, an SOS button, and even DigiLocker connect for storing vehicle documents.

It gets a fairly large underseat storage with a separate compartment for a small umbrella, another lockable compartment at the bottom of the boot, and one more small compartment to hold the tool roll and first-aid kit. There’s an open apron-mounted glovebox as well.

BGauss backs the C12 MaxR with a 3-year or 50,000 km warranty across the battery, motor, charger, and vehicle. The battery also gets an extended warranty option, taking coverage out to 5 years or 1,00,000 km, whichever comes first.
Riding Posture & Comfort
Rider Comfort
The e-scooter gets a contoured seat that’s 770mm long. The seat height sits at 768 mm, which should work for most riders without feeling like a stretch. At 160mm, the ground clearance is decent enough. At 126 kg, it's not the lightest scooter around, but it should be manageable to wheel in and out of a parking spot, especially with the reverse mode. Expect the riding posture to be upright and comfortable enough for daily commutes.

Pillion Comfort
The pillion comfort should be good enough for what it’s meant for - office commutes and grocery/shopping runs. The grab rail seems easy to reach and hold on to as well.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
City & Highway Performance
Power comes from BGauss's new HyperZen motor platform, mounted on the swingarm. It puts out 4.2kW of peak power, gets the C12 MaxR from 0-40 kmph in 5.3 seconds, and tops out at 75 kmph. Riders get three modes to flip between: Eco (45 kmph), Ride (60 kmph), and Sport (75 kmph). It can handle inclines of around 18 degrees, (with a 75kg rider alone). On the charging side, a 750W charger takes the battery from 0-80% in 3 hours 50 minutes, and a full charge in 5 hours 15 minutes.

Handling & Ride Quality
Brakes
The 220 mm front disc does most of the stopping work, backed by the 130 mm rear drum with CBS, and regenerative braking should chip in to slow things down smoothly, particularly in stop-start city traffic.

Handling & Ride Quality
The C12 MaxR rides on 12-inch alloy wheels with tubeless tyres (90/90 front, 100/80 rear), and uses telescopic fork - a combination that should feel planted on both potholed city roads and smoother highway stretches. The rear gas charged suspension gets a 5-step preload adjustability so you can set it as per the terrain and/or the load on the scooter.
