BGauss has launched a new electric scooter called the C12 MaxR in India. At Rs 1,45,999 (introductory, ex-showroom), it’s the most expensive scooter in the brand’s lineup. Here’s all you need to know about the scooter:

Looks

The C12 MaxR looks like a conventional family electric scooter. It has a boxy-looking headlight unit with projector LED headlights. The mirrors have a chrome-finish and are wide, which could be useful in everyday riding.

There’s a spacious floorboard that should be able to carry your everyday groceries or bags. Even the seat looks quite big. At the rear, is an LED tail-llight and the rear turn indicators. The pillion grab rail looks quite chunky and should be easy to hold on to.

The BGauss is available in 3 colour options: Sparkling Wine with Champagne Gold, Terra Green with Champagne Gold, and Pearl White and Satin Black

Battery And Performance

The BGauss C12 MaxR comes equipped with a 3.8 kWh LFP battery paired with a 4.2 kW side-mounted motor. It offers a claimed IDC range of 178 km, a top speed of 75 kmph. 

There are 3 riding modes that affect the scooter’s performance. The Eco mode limits the top speed to 45 kmph, the Ride mode takes it up to 60 kmph, while the Sport mode unlocks the 75kmph top speed. 

The scooter comes with a 750 watt charger that can do 0-80 percent charging in 3 hours and 50 minutes. Full charge will take 5 hours 15 minutes (all claimed). The charging port is located on the front apron for the ease of charging.

Underpinnings

All variants ride on 12-inch tubeless wheels It has an accessible seat height of 768 mm and weighs 126 kg kerb. The seat height shouldn’t be too much of a problem for even the shorter riders. The scooter’s 160 mm ground clearance should help tackle everyday bumps and potholes easily.

The e-scooter gets a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear, but no ABS. Suspension is handled by a telescopic fork and a 5-step preload adjustable off-set suspension.

Being a family-oriented scooter, the C12 MaxR has a lot of storage capacity. Under the pop-open seat is a generous storage space with 4 pockets to store knick knacks. There’s also a boot lamp to help access your items in low light areas.

The e-scooter has a 5-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and even display themes. There’s also a dedicated reverse switch to help you back the scooter in and out parking. To add to convenience, there’s also a cruise mode, and USB type C charging port.

Its other features include a Parental Lock, SecureLock, SOS, side-stand motor cut-off, FallSense, vehicle  diagnostics and DigiLocker connectivity.
