Honda QC1: More practicality but what about performance?
The 2025 Honda QC1 looks like the Activa e: from the outside, but it has a smaller, fixed battery setup, a lower top speed, and 2 ride modes. It also gets some things the Activa e: doesn't: boot space and the ability to charge the e-scooter at home.

Design
-
The QC1 looks almost identical to the Activa e: and from the side it does remind you a little of the traditional petrol-powered Activa.

-
The QC1 does not get an LED DRL and a very simple taillight and indicator setup.

-
The fit and finish of panels and elements are good just like the Activa e:

-
It comes with five color options- Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Misty White, Pearl Serenity Blue, Pearl Shallow Blue, and Matt Foggy Silver Metallic
Features
-
QC1 is a fairly simple scooter that doesn't come with any fancy features like smartphone connectivity or even a reverse mode.

-
It has a negative LCD display which shows only necessary information like speed, battery percentage, riding mode, and trip meter.

-
It does come with just two riding modes - Econ (Economy) and Standard.

-
It comes with a boot space of 26l and a 1.5l cubby hole on the apron.

Riding Posture & Comfort
-
The seat of QC1 is wide and comfortable.

-
The handlebar is high mounted which gives a decent riding stance which is comfortable for daily city and traffic. They make it easier for even tall riders to ride without any hindrance.

-
The footboard is spacious enough to accommodate a backpack and still have enough room for your feet.

-
The position of the pillion footpegs is a bit of an issue as they hit your legs when you’re trying to push the e-scooter with your feet when sitting on it.
Battery, Motor, Range & Performance

Power |
Torque |
Top Speed |
|
1.8kW hub motor |
1.8kW |
77Nm |
53 kmph |

- Honda claims that the QC1 can accelerate from 0-40kmph in 9.7seconds and has a top speed of 50kmph in standard mode.

-
Although its top speed is quite low compared to other, more premium EVs, it should be enough for most riders in the city.

-
Econ mode has a top speed of 32kmph which makes it only usable in absolute stop-go traffic.

-
It took too much effort to climb flyovers even without a pillion. And because of lack of performance, it feels dangerously slow in fast moving traffic.

-
In our opinion, the QC1 is best used for nearby trips and quick grocery runs rather than using it as a daily commuter in faster city traffic.

-
It comes with a 1.5kW fixed battery which gives the claimed range of 80km which is sufficient, considering it will be used for near-by rides only. The advantage this has over the Activa e: is that it can be charged at your home, but you will need a charging point in your parking space

-
The standard 330-watt charger takes approximately 6hr and 50mins to fully charge the battery, while zero to 80% charge takes 4hr and 30mins.
Handling & Ride Quality
-
The QC1 is very lightweight scooter with a kerb weight of just 89.5kg

-
It is easy to maneuver, making cutting through traffic effortless, and it can be ridden by a wide range of riders.

-
It gets 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels with drum brakes that lack safety features like ABS or CBS.

-
Braking doesn't feel very bitey, it is gradual and feels ok.

-
The ride quality on the QC1 feels quite stiff, so riding over bad roads at speed tends to bounce you around on the seat. You have to slow down quite a bit when riding over larger bumps and potholes.

Should You Buy The Honda QC1?
-
The QC1 is a simple, no-nonsense electric scooter but a little too slow to be a good daily commuter in larger cities.

-
Because of its lack of performance, it is best suited for running errands near your home.

-
It costs Rs. 90,000 (ex-showroom), which makes it cheaper than Activa e:. But at the same price, you can get the base TVS iQube 2.2kWh, which offers better performance, more features, more storage and higher range.
Pros & Cons
Good Things
- The design and styling which resembles the Activa e makes the scooter stand out
- Under seat storage is decent and can easily accommodate family needs
- The LCD console has a clean layout and is easy to read
Could Be Better
- Doesn’t get as many features as its competition
- Top speed of 50kmph is a bit too slow and won’t be enough to keep up with city traffic
