Honda has launched the all-new QC3 electric scooter in India at Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On-paper, the scooter offers a combination of likeable looks, usable range and overall good practicality. Here is all you need to know about the new Honda e-scooter in town:

Design 

The Honda QC3 is a good-looking electric scooter that comes with a modern, yet minimalistic design language. There is an apron mounted LED headlight, along with a simple DRL strip at the front. It is available in four triple-tone colour options: Matt Photon Gray Metallic, Pearl Precious White, Pearl Shallow Blue and Pearl Siren Blue. All of these colour options suit the overall stance of this new EV quite well.

Battery & Charging

The Honda QC3 uses a 3 kWh battery pack, and the IDC (Indian Driving Condition) range is 145 km, which is pretty decent for an electric scooter of this price segment. Honda claims that it can be charged from 0 to 80 % in 2 hours 40 minutes. Other than this, the Japanese brand has not yet disclosed any other information. 

Underpinnings 

The QC3 gets 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends. Along with this, it gets a conventional telescopic fork, and twin rear shock absorbers. For braking duties, there is a front disc, and rear drum brake setup with CBS (Combined Braking System).

Features 

Honda has given this EV a 5-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts and music controls. Other than this, for added practicality the scooter also comes with a 32-litre underseat storage and keyless ignition.

Unlike the previously introduced Honda Activa e: and Honda QC1, the new QC3 does look quite promising at-least on-paper. It offers a usable claimed range, good amount of features, and practicality. All of which together could help it become a good family scooter. That said, Honda is yet to unveil some of the key specifications of this electric scooter, which will help us better in judging or comparing this EV with its rivals. In the Indian market it competes with electric scooters like the Bajaj Chetak (3503), TVS iQube (3.1 kWh), Ather Rizta, and the BGaus C12 Max R.
