2026 Ather Scooters Now Get A Smaller Battery Pack But Longer Range!

The scooters get smaller battery packs, but the claimed range figures remain unchanged

Quick Highlights

  • Ather Rizta series gets new Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery packs

  • Both scooters get smaller battery packs, but the range remains unchanged

  • Performance, underpinnings, and features remain unchanged

Ather Energy has updated its scooter lineup with smaller battery packs and has introduced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery cells in select models. Here are the details.

Ather Rizta Series

The most significant change has happened in the Ather Rizta series, which now gets both Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery packs.

The Rizta S earlier came with a 2.9 kWh battery pack, but it now gets a smaller 2.7 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery pack. Ather claims the Indian Driving Conditions (IDC) range remains unchanged at 123 km. The Rizta Z also gets the same 2.7 kWh LFP battery pack, while its bigger battery pack continues to use Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery chemistry, with the capacity reduced from 3.7 kWh to 3.5 kWh. However, despite the drop in capacity, the claimed range has increased to 161 km compared to 159 km earlier.

Ather 450 Series

The 450 series has also seen a reduction in battery capacity in the bigger battery pack variant, and it continues to be powered by Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery technology. The battery capacity has been reduced from 3.7 kWh to 3.5 kWh in the bigger battery pack variant, while the smaller battery pack version remains at 2.9 kWh. The claimed range figures remain unchanged at 126 km for the Ather 450X and 122 km for the Ather 450S with the smaller battery pack, while the 3.5 kWh battery pack now offers a claimed Indian Driving Conditions (IDC) range of 161 km.

On both scooters, the larger battery pack variants get a bigger 900 W charger that replaces the older 700 W charger. Ather claims this new charger can charge the scooter from 0-80%  in 3 hours 12 minutes, compared to 4 hours 30 minutes earlier.

Other than these changes, the performance, features, and underpinnings of both the Ather Rizta and Ather 450 series remain unchanged.

Ather's upcoming future scooter makes scooters kee

My friend has bought this scooter and I have also ridden it. It has very good ride quality and gives very good range. Even 2 people can sit comfortably. It gives good range. The seat is also very comfortable. I would recommend everyone to buy it because it is the best. It is the best in mileage. It drives on the road and highway as if you are sitting in a car. The suspension is very good. Even on rough roads, there is no problem as its suspension is very firm and soft, so there are no jolts at all. I like it. Actually, this scooter is good for everyone from small children to adults. It does not cause any jolts at all and runs very smoothly. Whom not to buy is not a word in my dictionary because this scooter is made for everyone. I will recommend it to everyone.Read More

My opinion

It has clean finishing good looking, thin having, good mileage, having better features than any other petrol scooter, it is electric vehicle it is sports scooter so it has modes too fast charging service centre is available. I had done something around 12000 km driven this scooter for long ride it isn't good it is slightly uncomfortable it could give you back pain and scooter may could get heat if you are riding in the summer weather. This scooter isn't for long ride but if you want this for going to college, school or for work it's good vehicle. This scooter looks attractive and has good enough speed to reach the destination. Its good scooter you can go for it if you want. Read More
