Here’s how both these electric scooters stack up against each other

Yamaha EC-06 vs Ather Rizta Z: Features Compared

The recently launched Yamaha EC-06 is positioned as a stylish, city-centric electric scooter, while the Ather Rizta focuses heavily on family practicality and everyday usability. Both target urban buyers – but they take very different approaches when it comes to features. Here’s how they stack up:

    Instrument Console & Connectivity

The Yamaha EC-06 keeps things simple with a colour LCD console that displays essential ride information like speed, battery level, and range. It connects to the Yamaha mobile app, which provides ride stats and vehicle alerts, but that’s about it. There’s no navigation, phone alerts, or anything else.

The Ather Rizta clearly goes several steps ahead here. Its 7-inch touchscreen TFT (on the top-spec Z variant) offers a better experience with even Google maps directly built into it. You also get phone alerts, music controls, and even Amazon Alexa voice assistant. The interface can be controlled via a 5-way joystick on the non-touch variants, and the system feels far more interactive overall.

    Safety Features & Practicality

Both electric scooters come with CBS (Combined Braking System), and neither gets ABS. Where the difference really shows is in electronic aids. The Rizta packs in several smart safety features such as AutoHold (prevents rollback on slopes), FallSafe (cuts motor power after a fall), and Emergency Stop Signal (flashes tail lamp under hard braking). It also offers SkidControl (traction control), though this isn’t standard on the base variant. The Yamaha scooter, in comparison, sticks to the basics.

When it comes to practicality, the Ather scooter dominates again. Its 34-litre underseat boot can store groceries, bags, and most helmets with ease. Ather even offers an optional front trunk (frunk) pouch, and a boot organiser for better space management. The EC-06’s 24.5-litre storage is decent for daily essentials but clearly prioritises design over utility.

    BikeDekho Says

If your priority is style, simplicity and brand appeal, the Yamaha EC-06 delivers a clean design with just enough tech for basic city commuting. But if you want a scooter that feels feature-rich, family-friendly and loaded with smart safety tech, the Ather Rizta is in a different league. From its bigger storage to its advanced electronic aids and more modern console, it offers far more day-to-day convenience for urban riders. That said, the Ather has much wider availability as compared to the Yamaha scooter, that is on sale in just a few cities in Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu and only at Yamaha’s premium Blue Square showrooms.

Ather's upcoming future scooter makes scooters kee
My friend has bought this scooter and I have also ridden it. It has very good ride quality and gives very good range. Even 2 people can sit comfortably. It gives good range. The seat is also very comfortable. I would recommend everyone to buy it because it is the best. It is the best in mileage. It drives on the road and highway as if you are sitting in a car. The suspension is very good. Even on rough roads, there is no problem as its suspension is very firm and soft, so there are no jolts at all. I like it. Actually, this scooter is good for everyone from small children to adults. It does not cause any jolts at all and runs very smoothly. Whom not to buy is not a word in my dictionary because this scooter is made for everyone. I will recommend it to everyone.
