BREAKING: TVS Apache RTR 160 4V With Dual Channel ABS Launched At MotoSoul 2023
The humble 160cc bike now even gets voice assistance!

If you thought the modified TVS bikes were the highlight of MotoSoul 2023, well you’re wrong! And that’s because TVS has just launched the dual channel ABS variant of the lovely Apache RTR 160 4V. Given that its direct rival, the Bajaj Pulsar N160 has dual channel ABS (which is also one of its biggest talking points), the Apache is now hence better equipped to take on the Pulsar.

What dual channel ABS has done is helped reduce the bike’s weight by 2kg. Alongside that, the RTR 160 4V now also gets voice assistance, a first in the 160cc segment. Other things remain unchanged and for all these updates, TVS has pegged the dual channel ABS variant’s price at Rs 1,34,990 (ex-showroom Tamil Nadu). That means it gets a very small premium over the Special Edition. For perspective, here’s how much each variant costs:
|
Model |
Ex-showroom Tamil Nadu Price |
|
Drum |
Rs 1,23,870 |
|
Disc |
Rs 1,27,370 |
|
Bluetooth Disc |
Rs 1,30,670 |
|
Special Edition |
Rs 1,32,170 |
|
Dual Channel ABS |
Rs 1,34,990 |

All in all, a premium of Rs 2,820 over the special edition for something as crucial as dual channel ABS and a handy feature like voice assistance sounds very reasonable. Rivals for the RTR 160 4V include the Bajaj Pulsar N160, Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZS-FI V4 and the Hero Xtreme 160R.
TVS Apache RTR 160 4V (2009-2025) User Reviews
- Great Performance and Handling but City Mileage CoI chose the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD model mainly for its sporty design, features and strong road presence. The bike feels very stable on highways and comfortable for daily city rides. Handling is sharp and confidence inspiring. It is also good for family usage when riding normally. Overall the build quality, braking and features like TFT display make the bike feel premium in this segment. Ride quality so far has been very good. The Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD has excellent handling and stability. In highways the bike feels planted and smooth even at higher speeds. Braking performance and suspension are also good for most road conditions. But the biggest downside for me is the city mileage. In city I am getting around 28 to 32 kmpl, which is lower than expected for a 160cc bike. If someone wants good performance, sporty design, great handling and modern features, the Apache RTR 160 4V TFT USD is a very good choice. However mileage is the only reason I hesitate to recommend it to everyone. Competitors like Pulsar N160 give better mileage in city conditions. So if mileage is your main priority you may consider other options, but apart from that the bike is really enjoyable to ride.Read More3

- Apache RTR reviewAccording to online review it's the best bike in the segment. I reviewed other bikes in the segment and everybody has their pros and cons but this is the overall best friend and it has been running on the roads were years that's why. Very punchy and comfortable. It's very manuvareble in traffic and the blood through technology is very helpful in the driving also when it comes to I wait as a very good performance. Mileage is pretty good. Yes to anyone in this segment. Even even has an interesting 160 CC segment this is the best way to go for according to me as it as too much features for the price range and it is very much good for this age group.Read More5 3
- My journey of apache rtr 160 4vBecause of double channel abs its effective for mountain and city. It comes with good ground clearance and better seating posture. Also include good mileage during rides. Gear shift are good and overall power is excellent As I said mileage is quite good, compared to other bikes on this segment riding pasture are also good enough. On highways its good as compared to n160. One thing that I recommend front tyre size it might be increased to 100. If you are College going student or a employee you can opt this bike, in city and highways this bike gives you best results and if you have to travel around 80-120 km regular you can look at this side, specially if you are off road riders. This gives you more ground clearance then n160.Read More1 3
- Outstanding performanceHighly praised as a sporty yet practical all-rounder, excelling with its strong, smooth, and powerful engine for its class, agile handling, comfortable ergonomics for city commutes and occasional touring. Excellent features like GTT and slipper clutch, good mileage (around 45 km/l), and overall value, though some mention potential higher maintenance costs and lack of advanced safety like ABS on base models. TVs Apache RTR 160 4v is good performance bike in 160cc segment out standing performance it's looking beautiful.Read More2 2
