Ather Konarc

The Ather Konarc is the first scooter based on the brand’s EL platform. It is offered with three battery packs as of now: 2.1 kWh, 2.7 kWh and 3.5 kWh, giving claimed IDC ranges of 100 km, 125 km and 161 km, respectively. There is also a 200 km-range variant, whose battery specifications are yet to be announced and is expected to launch sometime in 2027.

Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic Showa fork, while the rear gets a side-mounted shock absorber with 100 mm of wheel travel. The scooter rolls on a 14-inch front and a 12-inch rear wheel setup. With the large wheel travel combined with the large front wheel, the scooter is expected to go over bad roads in a composed manner. Braking duties are taken care of by a 220 mm disc brake at the front, while the rear gets a 130 mm drum brake with CBS (Combined Braking System). Although, on the base S 100 km variant, the scooter gets a drum brake setup at both ends.

Feature-wise, the Konarc S 125 km and S 161 km get a 7-inch LCD console, while the S 100 km gets a 4-inch unit. The Konarc S 125 km and S 161 km variants also come equipped with AtherStack Pro, which enables features like music controls, over-the-air software updates, reverse mode, hill hold, Find My Scooter, and other connected features.

Convenience features include a 31-litre underseat storage and a 2-litre cubby hole on the apron.

Bajaj Chetak C3501

The Bajaj Chetak C3501 gets a neo-retro design with rounded body panels, giving it a premium yet family-oriented appearance. It also gets full-LED lighting and a 35-litre underseat storage space. Additionally, the scooter gets a 5-litre closed glovebox on the apron, making it a practical option for everyday use.

The Chetak C3501 is powered by a 3.5 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 153km. It gets a claimed top speed of 80 kmph. It gets a single-sided linked front suspension and a single rear shock absorber.

Braking duties are handled by a 200 mm disc brake at the front and a 130 mm drum brake at the rear, along with CBS for added safety. The scooter also gets a touch-sensitive TFT console, Bluetooth connectivity with call/SMS alerts, music controls, navigation, and document storage.
The scooter gets two riding modes: Eco and Sports, which alters the power delivery depending on whether you want efficiency or performance. It also gets a reverse mode, which helps with parking in tight spaces.
Bikedekho says
The Konarc is the more feature-rich option of the two. And the current top-spec S 161 km variant costs Rs 7,141 less than the Chetak C3501, while offering a higher claimed IDC range. So, if you want a feature-packed scooter and plan to use it for longer daily commutes, the Konarc makes a strong case.
However, if you look at the lower variants of the Chetak 35 series, they offer a larger claimed range than those of the Konarc. So if you are someone who values practicality over features and wants a TFT console for the premiumness, the Chetak should be your go-to option.
