All-New Ather Konarc Electric Scooter: Features Explained

Ather recently launched the Konarc electric scooter in India, it's the new affordable family electric scooter from the brand. At a starting price of Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom), it is most affordable scooter by Ather and is designed to cater to a wider audience with its practical, family-focused approach. It is the first scooter based on Ather’s new EL platform, here’s a closer look at everything it offers.
7-inch TFT Display
The Ather Konarc Z variant gets a 7-inch TFT display with a host of connected features, including call/SMS alerts, music controls and navigation. These features make it easier for riders to access important information without having to reach for their phones. The S 100 variant, meanwhile, gets a smaller 4.2-inch LCD console and misses out on these connected features.
Convenience Features
The Konarc gets several convenience features across its variants. All variants get an LED headlamp, which is expected to offer good visibility at night while also giving the scooter a modern look.
The mid and top variants gets an adjustable and well cushioned grab rails, which add comfort for pillions who prefer to sit sideways. Also the scooter gets a key fob with keyless start. The scooter automatically gets unlocked and ready to roll once it senses that the ride has sat on it. It can also be used to locate the scooter in a crowded parking lot.
The top variant gets kick-to-open boot access and an auto-pop feature that opens the boot once the button from the magic key is pressed, making it easier to store groceries or other items when your hands are full.
It also gets a USB charger, allowing riders to keep their devices charged on the go. The reverse mode makes it easier to manoeuvre the scooter in tight parking spaces. Additionally, the scooter also gets a new Air Walk feature, which basically helps you to push the scooter with ease in case you have a puncture, or while moving it around the parking lot. The mid and top variants also get Find My Scooter, which helps riders locate their scooter through the connected system, along with a theft alert feature. Remote charging status lets riders check the charging status without being next to the scooter, while Ather App connectivity provides access to connected vehicle information.
Safety Features
Ather has equipped the Konarc with several safety-focused features designed to make everyday riding easier and more controlled. It gets Auto Hold, which keeps the scooter stationary when stopped, reducing the need to continuously hold the brakes. The scooter also gets FallSafe, which is designed to help in situations where the scooter detects a potential fall and cuts off the motor.
For braking, the Konarc gets a disc brake at the front and a rear drum brake with CBS. The higher-spec variants also get additional connected safety features such as theft alerts, which notify the rider in case of a potential security event. The Konarc Z further gets Advanced Electronic Braking System (AeBS) for added braking assistance and improving overall braking performance.
