Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition: Same Price, Other Options

Here are 5 alternatives to the Tuono 457

A rev-happy parallel-twin, a state-of-the-art twin-spar frame, premium equipment, and, most importantly, an Italian brand badged on some of the best motorcycles in the world. This is how the Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition becomes one of the most desired machines under Rs 5 lakh. Built around a performance-focused chassis and powertrain, it feels just as comfortable on everyday rides as it does sharp when attacking corners. Plus, it gets a sophisticated set of electronics, from riding modes to selectable traction control and switchable ABS, which keeps you sane, just in case you want to. And then, it brings a 5-inch TFT dash with connected features, such as Navigation, Call/SMS alerts, Media control, Ride info & Vehicle data.

At Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Aprilia Tuono 457 Special Edition seems hard to match as a contemporary streetfighter. However, things get more interesting around this price point, with a variety of flavours to choose from, ranging from ADVs and cruisers to electric performance motorcycles. Here’s what else you can pick for the same money, if not the Tuono.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Astral

Price: Rs 4.06 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

If the Tuono 457 is all about performance and handling, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is unhurried, smooth, and deeply satisfying at cruising speeds. Its bigger 648cc parallel-twin feels pretty torquey throughout the rev range and has that authentic cruiser character and sound. Also, it is built on a steel duplex cradle frame with USD front forks, which makes it feel rock solid on highways.

But what makes it a genuinely comfortable cruising machine is its accessible 740mm seat height, raised handlebar and forward-set footpegs, complemented by a 15.7-litre teardrop tank. It may not have too many fancy electronic rider aids, but it does get dual-channel ABS and a slipper clutch to make your long rides a bit more effortless. Plus, you get a tripper navigation pod, alongside the retro-styled digi-analogue instrument cluster, which offers connected features including navigation.

It may not be as quick to change direction, but if relaxed riding, laid-back satisfaction and effortless mile-munching are your thing, the Super Meteor makes a strong case.

Moto Morini Seiemmezzo Retro Street

Price: Rs 4.39 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Moto Morini Seiemmezzo carries a name and an Italian history that most Indians are just beginning to discover, and that, in itself, is part of its appeal. It costs about Rs 40,000 more than the Tuono 457, but for that it brings a bigger 649cc, 8-valve, DOHC liquid-cooled engine, producing about 56.4PS and 54Nm of torque, the highest on this list. And not just that, but its beautiful neo-retro-styled roadster also comes with hardware that feels genuinely premium throughout.

Built on a rigid trellis frame, the Seiemmezzo Retro Street features adjustable KYB inverted front forks and a rear monoshock, the widest tyres in this range at 120/70 front and 160/60 rear, dual front discs with four-piston Brembo callipers and a rear disc with a two-piston Brembo calliper. It misses traction control, but dual-channel ABS, full-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-enabled five-inch TFT display sweeten the deal a little. The Seiemmezzo is for the rider who wants something uncommon, with more displacement and genuine Italian pedigree.

KTM 390 Adventure S

Price: Rs 4.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

With rally-inspired ergonomics, a tall seat, 21-inch front and 17-inch rear tubeless spoked wheels, and 200mm of suspension travel from fully adjustable, open-cartridge WP front USD forks and a separate-piston monoshock at the rear, the KTM 390 Adventure S is arguably the most versatile motorcycle on this list. And it’s not just the chassis capability; its 398.63cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing 46PS and 39Nm, doesn’t leave you wanting for power either.

The electronics package, including cornering Traction Control, three ride modes (Street, Rain, Off-Road), Quickshifter+, cornering ABS, switchable off-road ABS, and cruise control, is the most comprehensive in the sub-500cc adventure segment.  Plus, it brings a 5-inch TFT with Bluetooth, navigation, other connected features, and a Type-C USB charging port.

Its 14.5-litre fuel tank makes plenty of sense for long-distance touring, while its off-road capability comes in handy when the route takes you beyond the tarmac.

X47 Crossover Recon+

Price: Rs 4.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover is a genuinely impressive motorcycle that is breaking major misconceptions about electric mobility on two wheels. And those misconceptions include the idea that electric bikes can’t go far and are no good beyond the tarmac. Its Recon+ variant comes with a 10.3kWh battery pack that promises a certified IDC range of up to 323km on a full charge. Not just that, it’s 40.7PS peak power and 100Nm of instant torque, taking it from zero to 60kmph in merely 2.7 seconds, which might embarrass most bikes on this list.

Built on a steel trellis frame, this machine features long-travel, adjustable USD front forks and a rear monoshock with wide all-terrain tyres, making it capable on trails. It also brings Ultraviolette’s HyperSense radar technology, offering features such as rear-collision warning, lane-change assist, overtake alert and blind-spot detection, making it the first mass-market motorcycle to feature ADAS. Add to that 10-level dynamic regenerative braking, four-level traction control, an LTE-connected 5-inch TFT display, an onboard charger and hill hold, and it packs a seriously impressive feature list. All that, paired with a 5-year/1,00,000km battery warranty, makes a solid case for riders who are done paying for petrol and want something genuinely cutting-edge.

Aprilia RS 457 Standard

Price: Rs 4.26 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

And then, here is the Aprilia RS 457, the fully-faired sibling of the Tuono 457. It is built on the same platform, with the same engine and electronics, yet offers a completely different feel. Two things contribute to this major change: its stunning, aerodynamic full-body fairing and committed supersport-like riding position, with low-set clip-ons and slightly rear-set footpegs. While everything else remains the same, the forward-leaning, sport-focused posture puts more weight over the front, translating into more stable high-speed handling and greater confidence when cornering.

And that iconic Aprilia RSV4-inspired fairing doesn’t just add to the visual drama; it also offers better wind protection at higher speeds. So, if you already like what the Tuono 457 offers but want sharper styling and a more committed riding posture, you can simply pick the right fit from the same showroom floor.

V good bike

Premium build, starts from 2.5 to 4 lakh. Price increase with warranty and range. I chose for few reasons 1) hill control 2) regent breaking 3) aesthetics) Premium build 4) Indian start up 5) very low centre of gravity 6) sticks to road due to heavy weight and traction control. Very comfortable, bit costly but worth it, service is good. They visit home to serve by taking 10 rs per km. Low maintenance, shockers are very good, load of safety features, hill hold , very practical feature, park assist, regent breaks, traction control. Daily ride is minimum 30 km, saves petrol if you ride more, home charging facility. For touring one way 170 km is ok, to charge and return back. Very economical, though initial investment is more, but if you ride heavily you will find it cheap in long run. Warranty for recon plus ( rs 4 lakh) goes to 8 lakh km or 8 years by paying 45000 extra, Without that its 5 year or 5 lakh km.Read More

Aprilia RS 457 is a powerful entry-level sport bike with a 457cc twin engine delivering strong mid-range performance and sharp handling. Ready to Adventure.

I also have a Duke, Adv has covered all the issues which I have faced on Duke when I use to go on long rides, Ride is also plush coupled with a great engine which proves itself on all grounds. Also it has a decent fuel efficiency considering its engine performance. Bike's comfortable its mileage is also good I get a decent range, but the engine won't feel as raw as BS4 duke, great electronics and safety. Just having engine oil consumption on higher side. Also the Trampler tyres give more life than Turanzas which came initially. Long hauling person should definitely buy this bike, long rides are so hassle free. And comfortable, also if you have to carry any luggage they have provided good anchoring points. Tieing a back pack or a duffle bag is easy.Read More
