It was previously scheduled to happen in April, but was delayed due to the pandemic

(Update: The 2021 TVS Apache RR 310 has been launched in India. Head here to read the story.)

In March this year, TVS announced it was set to launch the updated Apache RR 310 on April 7, but those plans were derailed due to the surge in COVID-19 cases across the country. Now, the Hosur-based company has finally announced a revised launch date for the 2021 model, and that’s August 30.

The TVS Apache RR 310 offers the best features in its class while undercutting its arch-rivals despite the latest price hike. So, what tricks does the company have up its sleeves this time?

Well, we think the key update will be the addition of preload adjustability on the front USD fork, similar to the 2021 Apache RTR 200 4V. Along with this, expect span-adjustable gear and clutch levers to be part of the package too.

No mechanical changes are expected. The 313cc single-cylinder motor should continue to belt out 34PS and 27.3Nm. However, if TVS does extract a little extra juice, as it did with the 2021 RTR 160 4V and the 200 4V, it’d be a welcome addition.

Along with this, it wouldn’t be surprising to see TVS ProTorq Extreme rubber on the new Apache RR 310 instead of the Michelin Road 5 tyres. After all, it’d help TVS save on import duties and promote its own locally sourced product.

Lastly, thanks to these updates, expect the 2021 Apache RR 310 to retail at a premium of Rs 6000 - Rs 7000. The bike will be an excellent proposition even after the nominal price bump, considering it’ll still undercut the KTM RC 390. That said, the 2021 iteration of the RC 390 will be available soon, and that could heat up the competition for the RR 310.
