    Expert Review

    BikeDekho Experts
The Honda Shine 125 offers a nice package of a refined engine, good ride quality and decent looks. It doesn't have many features to offer like its competitors, but what it does bring to the table is reliable performance and good handling, which is ideal for a commuter bike.

    Honda Shine 125 Overview

The Shine 125 is a commuter bike from Honda and is the highest selling bike in its segment by a very big margin. It is also the 2nd highest selling product for Honda in India after the Activa. It was one of the first in this space when it launched back in 2006 as well.

    Honda Shine 125 Price

Depending on the variant, the Honda Shine 125 is priced from Rs 85,590 to Rs 90,341 (ex-showroom) in India.

    Honda Shine 125 Colour Options

The Honda Shine 125 is available in 6 colour options: Decent Blue Metallic, Matte Axis Gray Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Siren Blue, Rebel Red Metallic, and Geny Gray Metallic.

    Honda Shine 125 Variants

    Honda Shine 125

    Honda Shine 125 Design

The Honda Shine 125 has a typical, no nonsense commuter bike design that focuses on practicality. It gets subtle elements like a chrome-outline on top of the headlamp and a 3D Honda logo on the fuel tank to give it a 'premium' look. The body graphics add some flair, but the overall design remains conventional. The clean body lines maintain a neat and simple profile that offends no one and is accepted by all.

    Honda Shine 125 Headlight

    Honda Shine 125 Engine Performance

The Honda Shine is powered by a 123.94cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that makes 10.79PS at 7,500rpm, 11Nm at 6,000rpm, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

    Honda Shine 125 Design

It has so much pros that we can ignore cons... take testride then decide
I owned this this bike for almost 5 years and odometer reading is 81000kms. Pros: 1.Extremely good for daily commute because of its lightweight and Manoeuvrability. 2.Fuel economy is extremely good which is around 60+ kmpl. 3.Does not need much cost to maintain. Just do the regular services and you are good to go. 4.Parts availability is quite good. 5.Also comfortable for long rides upto 100km. cons: 1.Its such parts brakes shoes, racer, chain sprocket, wear out frequently. 2.Rusting started appearing after one year of purchase.

      My Experience with honda shine
It was a decent and nice performing 125cc, and smooth for city and highway rides, nice pick up speed as of a 125ccs, reliability, and also as it was my first bike, that's why I choose this to buy first. Comfort is very nice, I'm thinking it needs a little improvement in braking, but it is good too. As I ride almost 40km daily it's a nice bike, nice acceleration and quick response, no too noisy, just a little vibration issue on high speeds. This is a good bike for beginners, who are learning to ride or even good for job and for people who want comfort and daily travelling, I will not recommend if you want to go high speeds cause braking is not that good and it vibrate at speeds above 60-70km/hr.

      Easy to drive and comfort
Shine is my first motorcycle and it was easy to learn how to ride on it. It is low cc motor cycle so for a beginner it is perfect. There is slight difference in gear compared to a sports or high cc motorcycle but for beginner it is perfect. Handling on the good. Sitting posture good. Riding posture nice. Mileage is good. The ride has been steady and smooth. It moves easily in traffic, stays controlled during turns, and deals with rough patches without shaking too much. Longer rides also feel comfortable, with the engine staying calm and steady. I picked this bike because the seating and control felt just right during the ride. The engine felt smooth, and the handling seemed perfect for my daily routes. It looked like a simple, dependable option for regular commuting.

      Best bike Honda shine
Because of its refined engine mileage performance and the colour and Honda's reliable engine. My friend bought a glamour after me and his bikes leaks oil even when he changes its gas kit and mine is still new as before but e20 has caused some problems but still Honda is Honda. I have ride about 1lakh km in last 7years and engine still goes at top speed of 110 and it stable at 90plus speeds and my friends glamour struggles to even touch 100 and thats Honda's performance after lakh km. Yes I would recommend this bike for mature riders and middle age riders who wants minimal looks and and performance and mileage over, 4.5/5 probably. Honda is best for 125cc category in India, the main thing is that I would suggest this bike and you would not have to change timing chain and gas kit every 5-month.

Real Feedback From Busy Street Rides
I picked this bike mainly because it didn’t feel heavy and settled well on normal city rides. The seating angle felt natural, and the engine reacted clean without delays. It suited my daily office travel and regular traffic conditions. The ride stays smooth and steady on most city roads. It moves through tight spaces easily and keeps balance on small turns. Even after longer rides, there’s not much body strain because the seat position and engine flow stay relaxed. Good option for everyday commuters who want comfort without too much effort. It handles office routes, market runs, and basic travel nicely. The easy steering and mild engine behaviour make it simple to use for anyone riding daily.
