Yamaha recently unveiled the XSR 125 Legacy edition, in Europe. The cosmetic and functional updates have given it an extra sense of retro charm. Let’s have a look at it through images.
The XSR 125 looks every bit retro, especially from this angle. A muscular fuel tank, round headlight, round instrument cluster and an upright handlebar add to the charm. The spoked wheels with golden rims act as the icing on the cake.
The Yamaha XSR 125 in the Legacy Edition takes its neo-retro theme even further. The evergreen black paint scheme complemented by the gold and silver pinstripe graphics on the body give it good road presence. It looks lustrous and clean with minimal bodywork and panels.
The neo-retro motorcycle continues with the same 125cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox, producing 14.95PS and 11.5Nm. It also features VVA (Variable Valve Actuation).
The underpinnings include a 37mm upside-down front fork. It has also been given a black finish in order to match the black paint scheme. It runs on 17-inch spoke wheels at both ends wrapped with Metzeler Karoo for optimum performance in the trails. Braking duties are handled by a 267mm disc up front and 220mm disc at the rear along with dual-channel ABS.
Apart from that it has a round headlight and instrument console, keeping the retro theme constant. The XSR features modern bits like a fully digital cluster, LED headlight and tail lamp and MyRide smartphone connectivity.
More retro touches can be seen in the ribbed seat too, as it comes with a black colour seat cover. It is 815mm tall, making it accessible for riders of all sizes.
The Legacy Edition also gets a two-piece aluminium muffler cover on its exhaust which accentuates its neo-retro appeal.
The XSR 125 Legacy edition will currently only be available in the Europeanmarket, from June 2022. The standard XSR125 itself is priced at 4,550 Euros (approximately Rs 3.76 lakh), and expect this variant to be around 5050 Euros (approximately Rs 4.19 lakh). It will not be making its way to the Indian market. But if you’re looking for a 125cc bike, you can have a look at the TVS Raider, Honda SP 125, Hero Glamour and the Bajaj Pulsar 125.
