Yamaha Increases Prices Of Popular Models Like R15 V3 And FZ25

Thankfully, the price bump is marginal, shouldn't affect buying decision.

Thankfully, the price bump is marginal, shouldn't affect buying decision.

  • Prices of both the standard colours as well as the Darknight colour of the R15 have increased.
  • There is no change in the cost of the MT-15 naked.
  • The FZ series also gets a similar minor price revision.

Looking to buy a new Yamaha motorcycle? The Indian arm of the Japanese manufacturer has increased prices of most of its popular models like the R15 V3 and the FZ25. That shouldn't throw you off from cashing in on any Yamaha as the prices have gone up by just Rs 600. Negligible, you could say then as this hike is nothing in comparison to competitor brands like KTM which have been increasing the cost of its models frequently. In fact, KTM recently increased the asking price of the 125 Duke to Rs 1.30 lakh, which is an increase of Rs 5000 from before.

The past month, the 125 Duke out sold Yamaha's MT-15 by a few hundred units. Yamaha has decidedly not increased the cost of the small MT as it continues to retail at Rs 1.36 lakh. However, the MT-15's fully faired twin – the R15 V3 – has received this price revision. This pushes the price of the supersport to Rs 1.40 lakh for the standard colours (blue/black and grey/red) while the Darknight livery now retails for Rs 1.42 lakh. These prices are still lower than the recently launched KTM RC 125 which costs, in the current introductory period offer, Rs 1.47 lakh.

The other motorcycles that have received the small increment of cost are the FZ series motorcycles. The FZ V3 and the FZ-S V3 now cost Rs 96,180 and Rs 98,180 respectively. The FZ V3 faces stiff competition from the likes of the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Honda CB Hornet 160R. In comparison to these two motorcycles, the FZ V3s are slightly mellow and this small bump will not help its case in this regards. Also not furthering its cause is the soon-to-be-launched 2019 Suzuki Gixxer Fi, which looks sportier than before.

The 250cc FZ bikes, i.e. the FZ25 and the Fazer 25, will come bearing a price tag of Rs 1.34 lakh and Rs 1.44 lakh. While the former will not be (currently) affected much whatsoever, the Fazer 25 has to contend with a new rival in the form of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. We were mighty impressed with the quarter-litre Suzuki. With the naked version of the SF 250 on the horizon, we will just have to wait and watch of the new big Gixxer 250 will be able to out-do the FZ25 just like it's faired sibling has.

Over all good bike and also it's all versions

Riding quality is too good. Very huge and look is too brilliant. Just 155 cc but still beat any 200 cc bike. Engine is too reliable. Average is very good compare to other bikes. It gives me 40km per litre mileage and this is too good because it's a sports bike and still it give 40 kmpl mileage. I like it.Read More

Driven by single person only

Bike's performance is an excellent, powerful pickup, starts easily, one handed used only, driven 7700 km only within 3 and half years. Overall experience is memorable, sound is normal, highway experience is totally amazing, driving R15S vs other bikes is totally different, average can be maintained if we drive well.Read More
