The limited-edition Vespa Racing Sixties that was first unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo will be launched in India tomorrow. It’s based on the Vespa SXL 150 and shares the same underpinnings. Expect the Vespa Racing Sixties to carry a premium of around Rs 3,000 over the standard model, which retails at Rs 1,27,008 (ex-showroom Pune).
The Vespa Racing Sixties differentiates itself from the standard model only via its unique paint scheme. It features red racing stripes running from the front to the end along with gold pinstripes on white bodywork. To add to its retro appeal, the alloy wheels also get a premium gold finish. Other than this, the Vespa Racing Sixties features an LED headlamp, windscreen, idling stop system and a semi-digital instrument cluster that houses a fuel gauge, clock, odometer, tripmeter and speedometer apart from tell-tale lights. Storage space is provided by an apron-mounted compartment apart from the underseat area.
There's no change in terms of hardware. The Vespa Racing Sixties is powered by the same 148.5cc single-cylinder SOHC air-cooled engine that's seen in the SXL 150. In its BS6 form, it makes 10.46PS at 7600rpm and 10.60Nm at 5500rpm. It uses a monocoque chassis, a bottom link suspension and a monoshock. A standard 200mm front disc with single-channel ABS and a 143mm rear drum handle braking duties.
Considering its premium we expect the Vespa Racing Sixties to be one of the most expensive scooters in the country.

Vespa SXL 150 has been an amazing experience for me to ride. The engine and the comfort at the same time I was looking for. However, when I went to get service, They are not nice. Either the needed parts are not in stock or they complete the service without replacing the needed ones. I usually traveled a shorter distance though. The Vespa SXL 150 has given my everyday ride a refined touch. It's hard to find a minute of relaxation between job, family, and kids, but riding a Vespa offers just that. I took my family on a leisurely Vespa SXL 150 trip last Sunday. Beautiful shades of white, red, and black give the Vespa a very traditional and elegant appearance. Its 150cc engine produces a strong and smooth ride. Long journeys will find the incredibly comfy seats ideal. The Vespa rode us to a neighboring beach and did a fantastic job of it.
