The ‘Scooty’ moniker has been around for over three decades, and now, the popular TVS scooter has recorded an impressive sales milestone of 5 million units.
The TVS Scooty range was conceptualised with women riders in mind, and it is the longest-running gearless scooter in the country. In fact, over the years, we have not just seen the scooter evolve in new avatars, but TVS also launched a special edition model earlier this year.

The ever-popular TVS Scooty Pep Plus is powered by an 87.8cc engine and produces a modest 5.4PS and 6.5Nm. While its competition -- the Hero Pleasure Plus and Honda Activa -- eventually moved to a 110cc engine, TVS took a different approach. The Hosur-based bikemaker introduced the Zest 110, powered by a 109.7cc engine developing 7.81PS and 8.8Nm, to take on Hero MotoCorp and Honda.
