Fancy LED headlights? Here's a list of the least expensive bikes that come with that bright and fancy tech

Fancy LED headlights? Here's a list of the least expensive bikes that come with that bright and fancy tech

Price and engine performance aren’t the only factors that draw Indian customers to bikes these days. Enthusiasts also look at the bike’s feature list. More is always better, right? LED headlights, for instance, seem to be one of the key highlights in modern-day motorcycles. And if this tops your list of must-haves, then here’s a list of the cheapest bikes with LED headlights.

TVS Star City Plus BS6: Starts at Rs 64,495

For 2020, the TVS Star City Plus gets a sharper front fascia with a redesigned exhaust shield and a dual-tone seat. More importantly, the Star City Plus is the cheapest bike you can buy with a full-LED headlamp. Heck, it even gets a USB charging port positioned right next to the semi-digital instrument console. Talk about being feature-packed!

Honda SP 125 BS6: Starts at Rs 75,010

Next up is the SP 125 BS6 which looks quite similar to the CB Shine SP. However, it gets minor cosmetic updates such as restyled tank extensions, an LED headlamp and an engine kill switch. The biggest update, though, is its powertrain. The larger 124cc engine is fuel-injected and produces 10.88PS and 10.9Nm of torque -- 0.57PS and 0.6Nm more than the CB Shine SP.

Yamaha FZ-Fi: Starts at Rs 1,02,700

The 150-160cc motorcycle space is one of the most sought after segments in India. So it isn’t surprising that manufacturers try to cram in a number of features to entice customers. The Yamaha FZ-Fi is one such bike. The latest update brought with it new looks, revised ergos and better features. It gets an all-new front split headlight design, where the top half works as the high beam. The bike also looks a lot more muscular than before, with a beefy tank and tank shrouds, a stubby exhaust and chunky tyres.

Hero Xtreme 160R: Starts at Rs 1,02,000

One of the most impressive two-wheelers we came across in 2020 is the Hero Xtreme 160R. It looks properly sporty, packs a punchy engine and a feature list that stands second only to the TVS Apache 160 4V. Highlights include full-LED lighting, full-digital instrumentation, a side-stand engine cut-off and single-channel ABS.

TVS Apache RTR 160 4V: Starts from Rs 1,05,500

The Apache RTR 160 4V has always been the bike to beat in the 150-160c segment, and there’s good reason for that. What impressed us the most is its otherworldly refined engine, build quality and suspension setup. It also tops the list in terms of features which include a full-LED headlamp, GTT (Glide Through Traffic) and a Bluetooth enabled digital instrument console.

Well, that pretty much sums it up for now. We do have a couple of other bikes with LED headlights higher up the market segment, but more on that later.
