Features 

The motorcycle gets a semi-digital display, where you get an analogue speedometer, which really goes with the bike's rugged design. The console has all the necessary readouts, such as the fuel indicator, odometer, clock, gear-position indicator and trip meter. Also, it gets a Tripper navigation pod as standard, which enables connectivity features – Bluetooth and turn-by-turn navigation. 

Another convenience feature is that the bike gets a tall windscreen, which protects the rider from wind blasts during highway cruising – reducing fatigue during long rides. 

On the safety front, the bike gets dual-channel ABS as standard, with switchable rear ABS. The switchable rear ABS is useful when you are going on off-road trails, which lets you slide the rear wheel. 

Engine and Gearbox 

The all-new Himalayan 440 is powered by a 443 cc engine which produces 25.4 PS at 6250 rpm and 34 Nm at 4000 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox, which is expected to make highway cruising even more relaxed than the Himalayan 411. 

Underpinnings 

The bike rolls on a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, giving the bike a proper adventure bike stance. The bike is suspended on a telescopic fork and the rear gets a linked monoshock. Braking duties are taken care of by a 300 mm disc at the front, and the rear gets a 240 mm disc. The bike gets a seat height of 800 mm, which is accessible in terms of an adventure motorcycle. And a ground clearance of 220 mm, which is more than enough for the roads less travelled. It gets a 15-litre fuel tank

Rivals 

The TVS Apache RTX 300 offers more features and a rev-happy engine, whereas the Royal Enfield Himalayan 440 focuses on relaxed riding and a tractable engine. 

The Suzuki V-Strom SX is much lighter and more flickable than the Himalayan 440—making it a more fun-to-ride machine. 

The Yezdi Adventure gets a smaller, higher-revving, liquid-cooled engine, while the Himalayan 440 gets a larger motor with good low-end torque.
