Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 Spied Again; Check Details
More powerful engine, better underpinnings: this one is set to be the sportiest Royal Enfield bike ever

The Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 has been spotted testing once again in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Sporting an all-black colour scheme and no camouflage as such, the test mule gives us a clear idea as to what to expect. If you’ve been following news about this bike, you’d know that the Continental GT 750 is an evolution of the existing Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 in many ways.
Here are the details seen on the spy shot, and also what we already know:
Continental GT 750 Design, Riding Posture:
-
Looks more or less similar to the Continental GT 650 - that’s not necessarily a bad thing as the bike always looked gorgeous, even if it had simple body panels.
-
That said, we wish the rear fender and subframe had a more cohesive design. As you can see, there’s quite a bit of a gap between the rear wheel and the fender.
-
The upswept exhaust looks cool, and appears to be the same as the one spotted earlier.
-
The seat has a hump at the rear, imitating a cafe racer cowl. While this may look cool, it will only be comfortable for the rider alone. However, Royal Enfield will also offer a pillion rider-friendly bench seat.
-
The riding posture is sporty with rear-set footpegs, clip-on handlebars, so it may not be very friendly for daily commutes.
RE GT750 Engine, Underpinnings and Features:
-
The air-oil-cooled parallel-twin engine is basically an enlarged version of the existing 648cc motor. While the current one makes 47PS and 52Nm, the 750cc heart is expected to produce around 55PS and 60Nm. This may not sound like a massive jump, but it will just help the engine feel a bit more relaxed while cruising at higher speeds. That said, more than refinement, wind blast will be a bigger problem at those speeds, so you’ll have to crouch down.

-
With more firepower, the bike will also need better suspension and brakes. The Continental GT 750 gets telescopic forks but with adjustment as you can see the adjusters on top of the fork.
-
No gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear but preload adjustment can still be seen.
-
More importantly, it gets twin discs up front. It looks smaller than the current 320mm disc but having two discs should ensure better braking performance, better heat management and shorter stopping distances.
-
Same 17-inch alloys as the GT 650, with Verdestein Centauro ST tubeless tyres.
-
The twin pod console looked retro, but is replaced with a single-pod, info-packed TFT console from the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 / Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450.

Royal Enfield Continental GT 750 Price And Launch Timeline:
-
The GT750 will be launched towards the end of this year, at the Royal Enfield Motoverse biking festival in Goa - some time in November- December.
-
It could be priced at around Rs 3.9 lakh (ex-showroom).
-
It will not replace the Continental GT 650. In fact, it’s reported that the GT650 will exist alongside the bigger 750, and more importantly, an updated version of the Continental GT 650 will reportedly be launched soon.
