Piaggio India is now offering an extended warranty on its maiden offering in the country, the Piaggio Vespa LX 125 automatic scooter. This extended warranty scheme is available for all new and existing owners of the Vespa, given the fact that the scooter is less than two years old in the Indian scooter market. The existing users can buy the extended warranty, while all new buyers of the Vespa LX 125 can choose the scooter with an extended warranty right at the time of purchase. Piaggio India offers two packages of extended warranty, with one package covering the scooter for 1 year/12,000 kilometers while the other package comes with a 2 year/24,000 kilometers coverage.

At the moment, Piaggio Vespa LX125 comes with a 2 years/24,000 kilometer warranty as standard, here are the two schemes for the extended warranty and the costs of both the schemes.
1. year/12,000 Km extended warranty: Rs. 400 for new owners and Rs. 480 for existing owners.
2. years/24,000 Km extended warranty: Rs. 550 for new owners and Rs. 625 for existing owners.
The Vespa LX125 is a premium scooter and the most expensive scooter as well. The scooter is doing well in the market and it establishes Piaggio in the Indian market, however its high price tag affects it sales and it is still far behind than others. The slow sales in compare to the competition have resulted a Rs. 6,000 cut-off in its price. The stylish scooter features a monocoque steel body and this means the Vespa LX 125 is more stable even on the high speeds. The scooter comes with a high quality fit and finish. It is powered by a 125cc, air cooled, four stroke engine, which comes fitted with a 3 valve head, first for any automatic scooter in India. The engine dishes out the maximum power output of 10bhp while peak torque is rated at 10.6Nm. These specifications make the Vespa LX 125 one of the most powerful automatic scooters in India.

Piaggio India is also planing to expand its portfolio by adding mass market scooter segment. The are soon going to launch more competitively priced scooters in the Indian market. Coming 2013, we are expecting the Piaggio Fly 125 automatic scooter, which was slated in November and then in December earlier. This scooter will take on the likes of the Suzuki Access 125 and the Mahindra Rodeo 125. Unlike the Vespa LX 125, it is expected to come with a price tag around Rs. 50000 like other 125cc automatic scooter line up in India. On the other hand, the Vespa LX 125 will continue to be positioned as lifestyle scooter offering, and this segment will also be expanded with new launches.
Vespa Elegante 125 User Reviews
- Waiting for offers to buy the scooterI saw the scooter and liked it very much. When I enquired about it, I was shocked to know that the scooter is this much expensive. I felt this shock two times in two days. First, I got to know that the top end variant of Maruti S Cross is costing Rs. 16 lac, after that, heard about overpriced Vespa. I hope there will be some cost cutting later on, as the scooter is not worth its price. One can think of buying it for Rs. 60,000 to 65,000 but I don’t think anyone would pay over Rs. 70,000 to buy it. It carries great looks and is available in dynamic shades to complete its class. I am eagerly waiting for its price to decrease so that I can buy the scooter as I am liking it very much. I am Shravan Kumar from Uttar Pradesh, please reply me here if you get any information about the decrease in Vespa’s price. I hope this review will be helpful for others. Thank you.Read More1
- Killer LooksI purchased Vespa yesterday after hearing a lot of good things about it. The scooter is so smooth that sometimes you do not feel that its ignition is on when standing on a traffic signal. It is also well balanced and offers smooth running. Over these benefits, it is putting out a great mileage of 50 to 55 kmpl, I hope that the mileage will increase after its first service. The all new scooter reached to the speed of 90 kmph in a stretch of just 500 meters, that shows its power output. The stopping power is great and the tyres provide a good grip on the road. Its on-road price is around Rs. 77,000. If you are a scooter design fan, you should spend your earnings on it, otherwise, it is a costly scooter that will offer classic looks but perform like some others. Vespa is good for those who find these kinds of scooters attractive, it is only meant for them.Read More
- Attractive retro styleVespa is the non-geared two-wheeler from Piaggio. It is the only scooter in the country with retro looks and is being liked by most of the people. I bought my Vespa Elegante last month. I thought it would be powerful but it is not. It generates a maximum power output of around 10 bhp. But Vespa is stable, well-balanced and offers smooth running even on speeds over 70 kmph. It is a bit costly and goes to Rs.90,000 with its top end variant. It has both the electric and the kick start option for rider’s convenience. The old school looks of Vespa and its smooth running attracted me to buy the scooter. 7 litres of fuel tank capacity and boot space is enough to store a helmet and other small stuff. The headlight provides a good view of the road and high seating keeps you safe as you can see the potholes from a distance and can avoid them. Vespa is not worth its cost but is a good scooter overall.Read More
