We could also see some new models in the Hero Vida lineup as well!

    Quick News Highlights

    • The first bike could be a more premium variant of the Mavrick 440

    • The Mavrick Scrambler 440, on the other hand, could be launched in 2026

    • Vida lineup could be expanded with more models

Hero MotoCorp has revealed some new details about their upcoming 440cc models and the Vida lineup in a recent earnings call. The brand has revealed that it will launch a model co-developed with Harley-Davidson in the 440cc segment “very soon”, along with new models in 2026. The brand has also revealed its intent of expanding the Vida lineup.

2025 Hero Mavrick 440 Launch Details:

In the earnings call, it was revealed that the brand will launch one of the Hero-Harley co-developed bikes in the 2nd quarter of financial year 2025-26, which is from July to September. We think it could be the updated version of the Hero Mavrick 440, with more premium bits. We had seen the updated bike showcased at EICMA 2025, and it featured a gold-finished inverted fork and the same TFT console as the Harley-Davidson X440. It’s pretty evident from the sales data in the recent months that the Mavrick 440 is discontinued, so it would be wise for Hero to launch the updated model either by the end of this month itself or by next month.

2025 Hero Mavrick 440 Launch Timeline Reveled

Considering the aforementioned changes, expect a premium of around Rs 10,000 over the older model. For perspective, the Mavrick 440 top-end variant was sold at Rs Rs 2,24,500 (ex-showroom). With the update, the price will likely be closer to the prices of the Harley-Davidson X440

We could look at the upcoming updated Mavrick in two ways: the bike could be a more affordable alternative, with all the same features and premium bits as the Harley-Davidson, but with a Hero badge. This could be something many buyers who are looking for a value-for-money neo-retro roadster will appreciate. But on the flip side, there will be some people who might not like the fact that it is still a Hero bike at the end of the day, and paying a bit more will give them the bragging rights of a Harley.

    2025 Hero Mavrick 440 Engine

The updated bike should remain mechanically unchanged, and could still be powered by the same 440cc, air and oil-cooled, single-cylinder motor which produces 27PS at 6,000rpm and 36Nm at 4,000rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler Launch Timeline:

The other model that Hero mentioned that it plans to launch in 2026 might be the Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler. Hero MotoCorp had trademarked the name a while back, and the design patent of the same also surfaced online last year.

This makes sense because of two reasons: the first is the engine, which offers really good bottom-end torque making it perfect for off-road riding. During our time with the bike, this was one of the things which we loved about it. We even had the chance to take it off road, and the performance was impressive for a road biased motorcycle. The only issue was the low exhaust pipe, which made it prone to hitting the ground when going over larger bumps.

Hero has a big presence in the off-road motorcycle racing scene with the XPulse lineup, and the brand making a scrambler would be a welcome move. This will give riders who are looking for a bike with good road manners, and the ability to handle light trails a choice to consider. With the Mavrick Scrambler 440 would be coming to India sometime in 2026, and we expect it to be a bit more affordable than the Mavrick 440’s updated version as it gets a telescopic fork. This, in our opinion, would be sound logic if Hero were to keep the Mavrick a bit more accessible with the Scrambler variant - something that doesn’t shy away from getting dirty.

Lastly, the brand has also revealed that they will be working to expand the Hero Vida lineup, and could bring more models down the line. The brand had recently launched the Vida VX2, catering to family oriented buyers and the Vida V2 now being offered as a sporty electric scooter. While the exact details are still under wraps, we might see one or more variants at different price points on either of the range.

Heart set on the Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler
I have got my heart set on the Hero Mavrick 440 Scrambler because, honestly, that design seems like a rugged beast waiting to get down and dirty with a real burst of power from that 440 cc engine. Can't wait for its official debut; fingers crossed for a model worthy of high Hero standards.
