KTM 390 Adventure: Everything You Need To Know

Here are five crucial points that perfectly sum up KTM’s current entry-level ADV

Here are five crucial points that perfectly sum up KTM’s current entry level ADV

[Update: KTM 390 Adventure Launched In India: Head Here For More Information.]

KTM has finally unveiled the 390 Adventure at EICMA 2019. The bike packs a ton of kit, the same powerful motor from the 390 Duke and some extra electronic goodies to top it all. What’s the 390 Adventure all about? We’ve listed down five crucial points that perfectly sums up KTM’s current entry level ADV — that is, until the 250 Adventure comes along.

Looks like the 790 Adventure:

The 390 Adventure looks like a watered down version of the 790 Adventure. It features a chassis mounted full-LED headlamp, a full digital instrument console, and a large 14.5-litre fuel tank flanked by sharp tank extensions. Other notable features include a single elongated seat, sump guard, a windscreen, a USB charger placed right below the console, and knuckle guards.

Uses the same 373cc motor:

The heart that runs the 390 Adventure is the same 373cc single-cylinder seen on the 390 Duke and the RC 390. Power figures remain unchanged at 44PS and 37Nm, which is the exact same as the 390 Duke. However, the engine has been tweaked to comply with Euro 5/BS6 emission norms.

How about rider aids:

Knowing the sheer capabilities of the 390 Adventure, KTM thought it was wise to offer (MTC) motorcycle traction control as standard along with switchable dual-channel ABS.

Kitted to the brim:

Goes without saying that the 390 Adventure gets long-travel suspension which comprises of fully adjustable 43mm USD forks with 170mm of travel. The monoshock, on the other hand, gets rebound and preload-adjustability, giving riders more tools to work with, and features 177mm of wheel travel. While the cast aluminium swingarm looks similar to the one found on the 390 Duke, it's actually longer on the ADV.

Unfortunately, the bike features alloy wheels rather than the spoked rims that would have been a perfect fit considering the 390 Adventure's off-road character. On the bright side, alloy wheels are low on maintenance and easier on the pocket. The front and rear 19-inch and 17-inch wheels come wrapped in Continental TFC  dual-purpose tyres which offers the best balance between road and off-road use.

India launch timeline?

Ah yes, the question everyone’s been asking: When will it be launched in India? And how much would it cost? Well, we are glad to let you know that the KTM 390 Adventure will be showcased here in December with a possible launch in early-2020. Expect KTM’s new entry-level ADV to cost around Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). At that price point, it will still be undercutting bikes like the BMW G 310 GS and the Kawasaki Versys-X 300.

An Awesome bike

I Got this bike on july 2023. The best bike if you are looking for touring. You can trust it and take it to any unpredictable roads. It rules that way. Usually an adventure bike people will get scared to do corners. You can just bend the bike and do any corners since MTC ( Multi traction control) is awesome. As I mentioned if you are looking just for a day to day office commute, this bike is not recommend. Since this bike doesn't like slow speeds, it will be aggressive, the bike come out alive only above 5k rpm. Its designed in such a way that you want to go beyond. But a reliable vehicle from ktm products. A must have bike for touring.

Performance king

The bike performance was ultimate for both street and off road only thing is that mileage is very low around 25-28. Maintenance is not as much that of higher . The initial speed of this monster is ultimate and its handling is very good and you will feel good handling and power while riding in street or offroad
