Kawasaki Versys X 300

The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is the manufacturer’s most affordable adventure motorcycle on sale in India. The manufacturer relaunched the bike in 2025 with a new colour scheme, but mechanically, it remains unchanged. The adventure bike has an engine which loves to be revved.

• The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gets a typical adventure motorcycle design, which is evident by its large front end, tall windscreen and raised handlebar. 

• The Versys-X 300 is now available in two colour schemes: Candy Lime Green Type 3/Metallic Flat Spark Black and Metallic Ocean Blue/Pearl Robotic White.

• Although the fit and finish levels are quite good, the looks might be subjective and in our opinion, looks quite simple.

• The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is quite minimal when it comes to the sheer number of features it gets. 

• The lights are still halogen units, the console is a part-digital, part-analogue unit and does not support smartphone connectivity. 

• Rider aids include dual-channel ABS as standard, and that’s about it.

• The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gets a single-piece seat, which looks quite spacious for both the rider and pillion. 

• At 820mm seat height, it should be daily accessible for riders of all statures. 

• The riding triangle too is quite comfortable, and that means long-distance rides will be a breeze.

• The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gets the same engine as the Ninja 300. 

• The engine is known to be quite smooth and reliable. 

• It makes most of its power in the higher RPM as the engine loves to be revved.  

• The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.

• The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gets a backbone steel frame, which is suspended by a telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable link-type monoshock. 

• The bike has a ground clearance of 180mm, which should be sufficient for Indian riding conditions. 

• The Kawasaki has a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres and a kerb weight of 179kg. 

• The bike rides on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup wrapped around with dual-purpose tubed tyres. 

• It gets petal disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS. 

• If you are looking for a Japanese adventure motorcycle under the Rs 5 lakh price point, the Versys-X 300 is the only bike you can currently get your hands on. 

• Sure, it does not have the longest list of features, nor is it the most powerful or the fastest, but the Kawasaki should have a bulletproof and reliable riding experience, as we have seen with their other bikes.
