Kawasaki Versys-X 300
The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is the manufacturer’s most affordable adventure motorcycle on sale in India. The manufacturer relaunched the bike in 2025 with a new colour scheme, but mechanically, it remains unchanged. The adventure bike has an engine which loves to be revved.

Design
-
The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gets a typical adventure motorcycle design, which is evident by its large front end, tall windscreen and raised handlebar.
-
The Versys-X 300 is now available in two colour schemes: Candy Lime Green Type 3/Metallic Flat Spark Black and Metallic Ocean Blue/Pearl Robotic White.
-
Although the fit and finish levels are quite good, the looks might be subjective and in our opinion, looks quite simple.

Features
-
The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 is quite minimal when it comes to the sheer number of features it gets.
-
The lights are still halogen units, the console is a part-digital, part-analogue unit and does not support smartphone connectivity.
-
Rider aids include dual-channel ABS as standard, and that’s about it.

Riding Posture & Comfort
-
The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gets a single-piece seat, which looks quite spacious for both the rider and pillion.
-
At 820mm seat height, it should be daily accessible for riders of all statures.
-
The riding triangle too is quite comfortable, and that means long-distance rides will be a breeze.

Engine, Mileage & Performance
-
The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gets the same engine as the Ninja 300.

-
The engine is known to be quite smooth and reliable.
-
It makes most of its power in the higher RPM as the engine loves to be revved.
-
The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch.
Handling & Ride Quality
-
The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 gets a backbone steel frame, which is suspended by a telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable link-type monoshock.
-
The bike has a ground clearance of 180mm, which should be sufficient for Indian riding conditions.
-
The Kawasaki has a fuel tank capacity of 17 litres and a kerb weight of 179kg.
-
The bike rides on a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear spoke wheel setup wrapped around with dual-purpose tubed tyres.
-
It gets petal disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

Should You Buy The Kawasaki Versys-X 300?
-
If you are looking for a Japanese adventure motorcycle under the Rs 5 lakh price point, the Versys-X 300 is the only bike you can currently get your hands on.
-
Sure, it does not have the longest list of features, nor is it the most powerful or the fastest, but the Kawasaki should have a bulletproof and reliable riding experience, as we have seen with their other bikes.

Pros & Cons
Good Things
- Refined 300cc parallel-twin motor
- 17-litre fuel tank
- 184kg kerb weight
Could Be Better
- Gets an expensive price tag
- Basic instrument console
- Lacks tubeless spoked wheels

- Versys X 300 – Chhoti si badi bike!2024 mein li thi yeh bike, ab 18,000+ km chal chuki hai. Highway, ghat, off-road, city – har jagah leke gaya hoon. Engine 39 bhp ka lagta hai chhota par actual mein bohot refined hai, 400-500 km aaram se nikal jaati hai (28-32 kmpl real mileage). Seat thoda hard hai 300+ km ke baad thakan lagti hai, Suspension adventure bike jaisa kaam karta hai. Ground clearance. Brakes decent hain, dual-channel ABS bacha leta hai emergency mein. Cons bhi hain – 6th gear mein 100-120 ke upar thoda vibration aata hai Stock tyres (Metzeler) off-road mein slip kar jaate hain. Service cost thoda high hai Kawasaki ka. Par overall ₹4 - 5 lakh on-road mein jo package milta hai – looks, touring capability, reliability – us hisaab se full paisa vasool bike hai. Agar aap beginner ho ya weekend mein long rides karte ho aur ek lightweight adventure tourer chahte ho, toh dil se recommend karunga.Read More6 1
