Update - Honda CB300R Launched In India

The new Honda motorcycle has been spotted at an advertorial shoot

  • Reportedly spied in Navi Mumbai.
  • The bike was spotted in two colours: Candy Chromosphere Red & Matte Axis Grey Metallic.
  • Will be launched on February 8.

Honda’s upcoming retro-modern motorcycle, the CB300R, was reportedly spotted in Navi Mumbai during a commercial shoot. The motorcycle is scheduled to be launched on February 8 and will compete with the KTM 390 Duke and BMW G 310 R.

From the spy shots, the motorcycle appears to be almost the same as the one sold in the international market. We use the word ‘almost’ because if you closely inspect the wheels, it appears to be wrapped with Michelin Pilot Radial tyres instead of the Dunlop radials on the European-spec bike. They measure 110-section up front and 150-section at the rear. Being locally sourced, these Michelins will help keep the bike’s cost in check.

Speaking of which, Honda has confirmed that it will be priced well under Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom), despite entering the country via the CKD route. We believe the Japanese brand will price the CB300R between Rs 2.3 lakh-2.45 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory).

Apart from the tyres, the motorcycle gets the same powertrain and underpinnings as the international model. You get a 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC motor which pushes out 31.4PS at 8500rpm and 27.5Nm at 7500rpm. The model for the Indian market also gets properly premium inverted forks, a rear monoshock and petal discs on both ends with dual-channel ABS.

Notable features include an all-LED lighting system, fully-digital instrument cluster and a not-so-generous 10-litre fuel tank. As per WMTC cycle the bike returns 30.2kmpl, which isn’t too bad for a 300cc bike. Stay tuned for more updates!
