Excited? Well, sadly, there’s a catch

Soon after globally debuting the BS6 CB300R in India, Honda has now filed a trademark for the X-ADV name here. The trademark application status has been 'accepted', meaning the trademark has been entered into the trademark journal.

The X-ADV is Honda’s popular adventure scooter which is yet to be launched in the Indian market. It comes loaded with top-shelf features like a tall windscreen, a USB charging port, a 5-inch TFT dash, and Bluetooth connectivity with voice commands, all topped off by an eye-catching rugged design.

Underneath, the scooter employs a 745cc twin-cylinder engine putting out 59PS and 70Nm. Meanwhile, to make the scooter suitable for off-roading, it is sprung on a tall USD fork while rolling on spoke wheels wrapped with dual-purpose tyres.

So when is the X-ADV setting foot here? Well, there’s a catch. We believe Honda has trademarked the X-ADV in India just for legal reasons, rather than actually readying it for launch. You see, Honda also patented the design images of the CBR250RR, ADV 150, SH350i here but we never got to see any of them. That said, we’re hoping to see the X-ADV on our roads given the rising popularity of ADVs in India.

Plus, the X-ADV will also enjoy the distinction of being the only adventure-themed scooter in the country.
