It looks quite identical to the made-for-India Fascino

  • The Fazzio is powered by a 124.8cc engine putting out 8.3PS and 10.6Nm.
  • It is offered in four colour options.
  • Packs features like a USB port, cubby storages, LED lights, and a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster.

We had recently reported on Yamaha filing patents for a scooter overseas. And now, the company has taken the wraps off its new 125cc offering, the Yamaha Fazzio. Let’s dive into the deets.

Thanks to the patents, we already knew plenty about the scooter’s design. But what seemed a little odd in the patents looks appealing in the final form. And a lot of the credit here goes to the five vibrant colour options on offer: cyan, red, pink, black, and silver. The last two are also available with tan seat covers (as separate variants).

All the colours get a bold black stripe up front.

Since this is a modern 125cc scooter, there’s no shortage of features. The list includes a USB charging port, a smart key, an LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth, LED lights, and twin cubby storage spaces up front. Meanwhile, you get a decent 17.8-litre underseat storage for your valuables. The only disappointing bit here is the absence of an external fuel filler cap.

Coming to its engine, this is where the Fascino factor becomes notable. You see, the Fazzio is powered by a 124.8cc, single-cylinder motor putting out 8.3PS and 10.6Nm, 0.1PS and 0.9Nm more than the Fascino. Like the Fascino, the engine comes mated to a Smart Motor Generator, which helps provide an extra boost to the engine while also improving fuel efficiency.

However, even with the extra equipment over the Fascino, the Fazzio actually weighs 95kg – 4kg less than the Fascino.

The engine is housed in an underbone chassis, sprung on a telescopic fork and a monoshock. Besides, braking is via a front disc brake and a rear drum brake.

Finally, we come to the prices. The Yamaha Fazzio retails in Indonesia at around Rs 1.12 lakh (barring Indian taxes). This may be quite more than the Fascino’s India price, but the Fazzio is actually priced quite competitively for its target market.
