Looks different from the current Chetaks
Bajaj Auto seems to be testing a new electric scooter that could target the budget friendly, low performance segment. It was spotted alongside the Chetak during testing. While the scooter is heavily camouflaged, the spy images suggest that it might share some design elements with the Chetak, but with several changes.

Design
Design-wise, the scooter appears to have a circular headlight, similar to the one as seen on the Chetak line-up. At the rear though, it gets a single-pod tail light instead of the Chetak’s dual tail light setup. Other small design elements like the oval mirrors and fork covers give it a more premium look.
Performance
This Bajaj scooter could have a top speed of around 50kmph, making it suitable for primarily daily city commuting. It is likely to be equipped with a hub-mounted motor, which is more cost effective than a mid-mounted one.

Underpinnings
The scooter has a front disc brake, dual rear shock absorbers, and 12-inch wheels at both ends. The floorboard space seems to be on the smaller side, which could make it feel cramped for taller riders. Although, it would help in maintaining a compact form factor. A front apron hook is also seen, which adds practicality for carrying small items.
Price
Pricing for this electric scooter might be around the Rs 80,000 (ex-showroom) mark. If the price holds, this could make the scooter an appealing option for budget conscious consumers. Especially as more expensive, high performance electric scooters remain out of reach for most buyers.

BikeDekho Says
If Bajaj Auto is entering the affordable and low-performance electric scooter segment at a time when the PM e-DRIVE Subsidy Scheme on electric vehicles will be ending soon, it will give the manufacturer the option to have more budget friendly models in its lineup. Currently, their most affordable model, the Chetak 2903, is priced at Rs 95,998. Having a model within the Rs 70,000 - 80,000 price range for when the subsidies end will help the company be in a position to capitalize on the changes in the Indian electric two-wheeler market. Additionally, with testing equipment visible, it suggests that the scooter is still in the development phase, indicating that its launch may be some time away.

I had to change only tyres and regular service only one auxiliary battery of Rs. 800 had been changed.
