The price of the Vespa Notte could get you a maxi-scooter, an electric motorcycles or nakeds

Vespa recently launched the most affordable scooter in its BS6 lineup, the Notte 125 at Rs 91,864. Admittedly, that’s still quite expensive for a 125cc scooter which may put off most buyers. You could actually use the same money and choose from a couple of other options that may make more sense in terms of practicality and fuel efficiency.

    Suzuki Burgman Street 125 BS6 - Rs 79,700

You could opt for the Burgman Street 125 instead. It packs a 125cc engine and has a lot more to offer in terms of features and practicality. You have plenty of storage space, LED headlight and tail light, a full-digital instrument console and a plush seat. More importantly, the scooter has road presence which will surely draw attention from bystanders. The only drawback to the Burgman Street is its skinny rear tyre which looks disproportionate compared to the scooter.

    Honda Unicorn - Rs 93,593

The Unicorn has stood the test of time over the years and makes a comeback in the BS6 iteration. It features a larger 162.7cc engine in order to meet BS6 emission norms but produces the same power as the earlier 150cc motor. What really works in its favour is its reliability. You could expect to get more out of the bike in terms of fuel efficiency compared to the Notte thanks to its frugal engine.

    RV400 - Rs 98,999

If you’re a tree hugger, you could go green with the RV400. It’s about Rs 7,000 more expensive than the Notte but offers a lot more in terms of kit and features. Besides, a range of over 150km per charge should be more than enough for your daily commutes. While this might sound a bit gimmicky, you could make the RV400 sound like a sportbike with the help of a smart app and some strategically placed speakers.

    Bajaj Pulsar 150 -  Rs 98,566

Rs 98,566 also lets you hop onto the Pulsar bandwagon. The Pulsar 150 gets you the same muscular looks that have touched the hearts of many over the years. A bigger 150cc motor, more power, and a sharp design language is sure to get you the right kind of attention. The addition of fuel-injection should make the engine a lot smoother and the throttle response crisper compared to the outgoing model.

    Apache RTR 160 4V - Rs.1,02,000

Fork out around Rs 10,000 more and you can get yourself the Apache RTR 160 4V, a bike that’s been a benchmark in the 160cc motorcycle space for a while now. TVS has upped the ante with the addition of a couple of more features with the 2020 model. It now comes equipped with a full-LED headlight, Glide Through Technology, which helps the bike crawl at low speeds using just the clutch lever modulation alone, and a Feather Touch Start system. It’s not only high on features but it’s also light and a brilliant handler for a commuting-centric motorcycle. One of the best value for money propositions out there.

      Not Comfortable Enough
I am using this bike for the last 2 years. If you are going to ride every day by Vespa Notte 125, then you will get problems. The other parts of this bike work perfectly. If you ride this bike then you think that another bike is better.
