    Quick News Highlights

    • 2025 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V and 4V launched

    • Both the bikes are now OBD-2B compliant

    • The bikes have become Rs 1,600 more expensive

Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2025 Xtreme 160R 2V and 4V in India with OBD-2B compliant engines. Both the bikes are available for sale in single variants with the 2V OBD-2B being priced at Rs 1,13,211 while the Xtreme 160R 4V OBD-2B being priced at Rs 1,40,600 (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Both bikes are Rs 1,600 more expensive than their non OBD-2B counterparts.

The 2025 Hero Xtreme 160R 2V is offered in the same single ‘Stealth Black’ colour scheme as before while the new 4V is also offered in the same three colour schemes as before: Kevlar Brown, Neon Shooting Star and Stealth Black.

Both motorcycles are still powered by the same 163.2cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as before, producing 16.9PS and 14.6Nm, paired to a 5-speed but are now OBD-2B compliant to meet the latest emission norms.

Both the bikes have remained the same underneath, with the same chassis and underpinnings. The Xtreme 160R 2V gets a conventional 37mm telescopic fork while the Xtreme 160R 4V gets a KYB inverted fork of the same diameter. Both the bikes have also retained the 7-step adjustable monoshock.

The 276mm front disc brake is the same for both the bikes, but the Xteme 160R 2V gets single-channel ABS with a 130m drum brake at rear, while the Xtreme 160R 4V has dual-channel ABS with a 220mm rear disc brake. That said, both the bikes have fundamentally remained the same with just the addition of OBD-2B system

With the OBD-2B update, the system will alert the rider of any malfunction, particularly in emissions. The Rs 1,600 price hike should not really affect the buying decision as it is not substantial enough to make a difference. We think the premium is justified for the new tech that the bikes get. The Hero Xtreme 160R 2V and the 4V rival the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V and Apache RTR 160 4V respectively.

Hero bikes are the Best my fav.
I chose the Hero Xtreme 160R because it offers a perfect mix of power, comfort, and style. Its smooth to ride in city traffic, handles well on highways, and is easy to maintain. I have one previous model of 2011 already. Ride has been smooth and enjoyable so far. The bike feels light, handles traffic easily, and stays stable on highways. Power delivery is clean, braking feels confident, and comfort is good for daily rides. Yes, I would recommend it. The bike is comfortable, easy to ride, and performs well in daily use. It looks good, gives decent mileage, and is reliable for both city and highway riding. Service cost is good and pocket friendly.
