Benelli India Plans 40 New Dealerships

The first couple of dealerships will be operational by April while the rest will follow suit by late-2019

Currently, Benelli has 12 operational dealerships across India.  The iconic Italian manufacturer resumed operations in India in August 2018. At present, the manufacturer sells four models in the country. This comprises of TRK 502, TNT 600i, 302R and the TNT 300. Plans to launch five more bikes this year.

Italian two-wheeler manufacturer, Benelli, made a comeback in India late last year after it tied up with Hyderabad-based Mahavir Group and reintroducing three of its bikes - the Benelli TNT 600i, 302R and the TNT 300. Now, the luxury two-wheeler brand is working on expanding its reach in India with a broad service network. For this purpose, Benelli is working towards adding another 40-odd dealerships to its existing 12 showrooms that are spread across India.

Since Benelli stepped foot in India, it has managed to garner around 6,000 customers. The expansion will not only help the company reach out to potential buyers across India but also make its service network more accessible for existing clientele.

The expansion plan will also complement the introduction of five new motorcycles, keeping aside the newly launched TRK 502 and TRK 502X. This will pan out with the Benelli Leoncino and Leoncino Trail making its way to India first, followed by the company's hyper-tourer, the Benelli 502 C. The launch of the Imperiale 400, intended to compete with Royal Enfield and Jawa, will most likely be delayed as the brand is looking at heavy localisation in order to price the bike competitively. 

While there’s no news on the fifth model, we could expect a higher-capacity bike that sits above the TNT 600i, say the 752 S which is already available in international markets. If it does see the light of day in India, it’ll compete against the current crop of mid-displacement naked bikes like the Suzuki GSX-S750, the Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple S and the Ducati Monster 797.
