Here’s how the new flagship Pulsar matches up with the existing flagship offering
After a long time, Bajaj has finally updated its Pulsar lineup with two new bikes, the Pulsar N250 and the Pulsar F250. And here, we’re pitting the naked N250 against the potent and likeable Pulsar NS200, to find out how the former matches up with it in a photo comparison:
Being streetfighters, both motorcycles boast a radical design.
From the front, the Pulsar N250 certainly looks more futuristic due to its LED projector headlight and brow-like DRLs. The NS200’s fascia is aggressively shaped and likeable too, but its halogen unit looks aged now.
Face aside, the side profile of both motorcycles is quite similar, as both bikes get muscular tank shrouds. However, the N250’s shrouds add more character to the design. We also like the belly pan on the N250, again as it is more prominent than the NS200’s.
Towards the rear, the NS200 takes the cake. It has a sharper tail end, even though the N250 gets a new LED taillight and a sleeker tyre hugger.
Features have been the Achilles heel of the NS200 for a while now. And the fairly modern Pulsar N250, expectedly, comes out on top here. It gets all-LED illumination, a slip-and-assist clutch, and the new instrument cluster showing gear position and range, all of which are missing on the NS200.

- Bajaj Pulsar F250 vs Pulsar 220F: Differences Explained
Let’s talk numbers now. The Pulsar NS200 is powered by a 199.5cc motor, putting out 24.5PS and 18.5Nm. Meanwhile, the Pulsar N250 employs an all-new 249cc motor belting out the same power but 2Nm more.
The Pulsar 200NS, though, features more advanced liquid cooling, a six-speed transmission, and even weighs 6kg less than the N250, which would give it an upper hand in terms of outright performance. However, the NS200’s fuel tank is two litres smaller than the Pulsar N250’s 14-litre unit.
Moreover, with a perimeter frame, the NS200 should also be a sharper handling motorcycle than the N250 with its new tubular chassis. While both bikes use a 37mm telescopic fork up front, the Pulsar NS200 gets a gas charged monoshock at the rear, in comparison to the N250’s standard monoshock. However, we’re yet to ride the N250, so you’ll have to wait for a concrete conclusion in terms of handling.
Both bikes roll on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 100-section front and 130-section rear tyres, clamped by similar 300mm/230mm (F/R) disc brakes. The NS200, though, has ByBre calipers while the N250 gets new Grimeca units. Single-channel ABS comes standard on both.
Lastly, prices. The Pulsar NS200 is priced at Rs 1,33,210, while the Pulsar N250 costs Rs 1,38,000 (both ex-showroom Delhi). For around Rs 5,000, the Pulsar N250 offers a more modern design, better features, and even slightly more torque, somewhat justifying the extra moolah.
So if you want a modern, capable motorcycle, then the Pulsar N250 is for you. But if outright performance tops your list, then the NS200 is still the better offering.
Bajaj Pulsar N250 User Reviews
I chose this bike for it's looks, easy spare parts availability and uniqueness on roads. This is one of the cheapest 250cc out there. It provides almost all the modern technologies like riding modes, Dual-channel ABS, Traction control, Bluetooth navigation, etc. I liked the seating posture and seat height it is very accessible to all types of riders. I like bikes having good low-end torque for effortless city riding and this machine has very good low to mid range torque so these are the reasons I chose this beautiful machine. The overall ride quality is very good. The suspension is not that stiff and you will definitely feel the adrenaline rush due to it's power. This is a very good city machine as well as capable on highways. On highways you can easily cruise at 80-100 km/h without much stress on the engine. I must say that the engine is very refined and smooth. The pickup is great and it has very good midrange performance. I am getting mileage of around 38 km/l which is decent for a 250cc. You can get mileage of 45 on highways if you cruise at a constant speed. The stability of this bike at speeds of 90-100 is decent but I am not sure about the high stability post 120 km/h. You feel the absence of a 6th gear on highways sometimes but the bike manages the gear ratios pretty well. Overall I'll say this bike has got a very punchy and refined engine. The braking is very good and the front brake response is very satisfying you will feel confident while riding this machine. The exhaust sound is very bassy and head-turning. People will definitely notice you. The pillion seat and rear suspension is a bit on stiffer side but it is good for cities. One thing I must mention is it's class-leading led projector headlights. The throw is very amazing and you will feel confidence on highways. No other bike in this segment provides such powerful headlights. So let's come to conclusion Will I recommend this bike I would say if you love bike having great low and mid range torque refined engine then you should definitely go for N250.But if you want a better highway machine having liquid looked technology and better high speed stability then you can look at NS200. Overall both the bikes have their own pros and cons and it all depends on what kind of rider you are and what you want. At last I would say you can buy N250 it will not disappoint. You will love riding it. I hope this review helps you find your perfect ride, Thanks...Read More

The Pulsar N250 is easily the best naked bike under 2 lakhs (pre-GST update). It delivers an amazing pull in the low and mid range, offers great city mileage of around 40 kmpl, and comes with fantastic brakes that stop exactly when you need them to. Its stylish and aggressive design genuinely makes you want to turn back and admire it every time. I also considered the NS200, which performs better on highways but returns lower mileage in the city. Since my primary use case is daily city riding with occasional long rides, the N250 was the perfect fit. The Pulsar N250 delivers impressive mileage with around 40 kmpl in the city and about 43 kmpl on the highway while cruising between 70 and 80 kmph. It has a strong pull in the low and mid range, a torque rich engine, and excellent brakes that give a lot of confidence. Both rider and pillion get comfortable seating and the sporty and aggressive design makes the bike stand out. The headlight throw is among the best in this segment and the suspension feels stable on highways which makes relaxed cruising very easy. Service and maintenance are also affordable. On the negative side there can be a rare wobble above 120 kmph and the handlebar may feel slightly short for some people. The rear mudguard is not very effective, the suspension feels a little stiff in the city, and the mirrors are average. The instrument cluster is also not bright enough under strong afternoon sunlight. Absolutely recommended. If you want a bike with strong pull and power, stylish and head turning looks, and something that does not put a strain on your wallet, this is the right choice. It gives good mileage, delivers a thrilling experience on highways, and can even give you goosebumps when taking curves.Read More
