Ather Rizta vs Vida VX2: What Suits You Best?
A two-way battle of the electric family scooters; here’s which one you should buy

The Ather Rizta and the Vida VX2 are the most affordable and family-oriented options from the respective manufacturers. But how do they fare against each other, on paper? Let’s find out.
Design

The Ather Rizta has a clean, no-nonsense design with wide seats and large body panels that highlight its practical, family-friendly appeal. Its simple lines and relaxed stance make it ideal for everyday commutes and short family outings. It has a whole bunch of colour options. It has 2 matte colours, 2 monotone colours, and 5 dual-tone colours.
In contrast, the VX2 has a livelier and more youthful design, with a stylish, modern stance. It has a fresh and eye-catching presence on the road and is available in 7 colour options: Nexus Blue, Metallic Grey, Matte White, Autumn Orange, Matte Lime, Pearl Black and Pearl Red.
Battery and Motor

The Ather Rizta is available with two battery options — 2.9kWh and 3.7kWh — offering a claimed range of up to 159km. In real-world conditions, it’s expected to deliver around 120–130km on a full charge. Depending on the variant, charging takes between 4.5 and 6.5 hours, while the scooter can reach a claimed top speed of 80kmph.
The Vida V2 Plus uses a swingarm-mounted motor that produces 3.9kW of rated power and 6kW at peak. It is available with two removable batteries with a combined capacity of 3.4kWh. Vida claims the scooter can sprint from 0–40kmph in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 80kmph. The claimed riding range stands at 143km on a single charge.
Underpinnings

The VX2 shares its platform with the Vida V2 and the underpinnings are the same as the Rizta. Both get a steel, tubular frame. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork up front and a monoshock at the rear, while the seat height stands at a comfortable 777mm. The braking setup consists of a front disc brake and a rear drum brake with a Combined Braking System (CBS). Both scooters get 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends.
Features

The Ather Rizta packs a host of modern and practical features, including a 7-inch touchscreen TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, Google Maps-based navigation, call and SMS alerts, and OTA updates. It also gets full LED lighting, traction control, an emergency stop signal, and theft alerts. A major highlight is its spacious 34-litre underseat storage, complemented by an optional 22-litre front trunk — features that make it especially convenient for family use.
The Vida VX2 comes equipped with all-LED lighting and a 4.3-inch TFT console that supports smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts. It also features regenerative braking and offers three riding modes — Eco, Ride, and Sport. Practicality is enhanced with a roomy 27.2-litre underseat storage and an additional 6-litre front compartment. It gets a slightly raised pillion seat and a backrest, making it suitable for everyday commuting and short trips.
Price and Verdict

The Ather Rizta’s prices range from Rs 1,14,999 to Rs 1,37,999 for the S variant and Rs 1,31,999 to Rs 1,51,998 for the Z variant. The Vida VX2 is priced at Rs 74,000 for the Go variant and Rs 94,800 for the Plus variant. If you want a family-oriented scooter that comes with all the fancy bells and whistles and are willing to pay the premium for it, then the Ather Rizta is the better option to consider. Otherwise, if you want a good, basic family-oriented electric scooter that’s also really affordable, then the Vida VX2 is the better option.
