Quick News Highlights:
- Google Maps will show Ather Grid Fast Charging Stations and universal EV charging stations.
- It is useful not only for Ather owners but also for those who own other electric bikes & scooters.
- A total of 1,973 fast chargers are already available as of March 30th, 2024.
Ather Energy has partnered up with Google Maps to provide availability and live status updates of the Ather Grid fast charging stations along with universal EV charging stations with the Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECCS), which is the official Indian EV charging connector standard for a charging plug and fits most of the EV two-wheelers.
So, now you can find an EV charging station along with real-time availability updates on Google Maps. The app will also show whenever a new Ather Grid or a universal charger is installed anywhere across the country. A total of 1,973 fast chargers are already available as of March 30th, 2024.
This feature on Google Maps is also very useful for electric bike and scooter owners who don’t own an Ather electric scooter as they can set LECCS as their default connector on Google Maps. So, when they search for "EV charger near me" or "charging stations," chargers with LECCS will show up. This makes it easy for vehicles with LECCS to find and charge at Ather fast-charging stations.
This is another step forward by Ather Energy to improve the overall ownership experience as this move by Ather will tackle one of the biggest challenges for EV adoption in the country, which is locating charging stations.
This new feature on Google Maps is in line with the Ather Trip planning feature in which you can plan your route and the charging stations where you will charge your electric scooter before even starting the trip. It not only makes charging your scooter outside your house more convenient but also reduces the possibility of being stranded with a discharged scooter in the middle of the road.
