Not sure if splurging Rs 1.10 lakh on the Apache will be worth it? There’s lot many options to choose from

A few months after TVS launched the 2021 Apache RTR 200 4V , the Hosur-based brand has launched the 2021 Apache RTR 160 4V that puts out slightly more power and torque. Though the update comes at no extra cost, the Rs 1.10 lakh asking price for the rear disc variant is steep to begin with for a 160cc bike. Here’s what other brands have to offer at a similar price:

Bajaj Pulsar 180: Rs 1,07,904

The latest option in the market is the resurrected 180cc roadster that replaces the Pulsar 180F. It uses the same engine as the 180F and produces 17.02PS at 8500rpm and 14.52Nm at 6500rpm. Despite having the bigger engine, the Pulsar makes tad less power and torque than the 2021 Apache RTR 160 4V. The Pulsar 180 falls short when it comes to features as well.

Hero XPulse 200: Rs 1,15, 230

If you have been on a lookout for a bike to commute as well as to venture off the beaten path, the XPulse 200 is your best (and most affordable) bet in the market at present. The bike uses a 199cc, air-cooled, single cylinder engine producing 18.08PS and 16.45Nm. Though the enduro styling may not be to everyone’s liking, the 823mm seat height and the 220mm ground clearance means it can tackle the rough terrain as well.. It even packs navigation and bluetooth connectivity.

Yamaha FZ version 3.0: Rs 1,03,700

If Bluetooth connectivity is what you are looking for, the new Yamaha FZ is an affordable option. The FZ was launched last month with Yamaha Motor Smartphone Connect X, which comes as an option on the base trim and as standard fitment on the S variant. However, when it comes to performance, 12.4PS and 13.3Nm are nowhere close to the Apache.

Hero Xtreme 200S: Rs 1,17,214

Indians love faired motorcycles, and the most affordable fully-faired motorcycle you can buy today is the Xtreme 200S. It is also one of the most affordable bikes to come equipped with navigation as standard. The 199cc single cylinder engine 18PS at 8500rpm and 16.45Nm at 6500rpm, a bit lower than the BS4 version.

Bajaj Avenger 160 Street: Rs 1,16,700

If a comfortable cruiser is what you are looking for, the Bajaj Avenger 160 Street pits the bill perfectly. Powered by a 160cc, single cylinder engine, it produces 15PS at 7,500rpm and 13.7Nm at 7,000rpm. The latest update has given the bike a bigger, 280mm disc, which should help in shedding speed better. Even the low seat height of 737mm is a boon for shorter riders
