The Scooter India Loves.

Honda Activa is the scooter that single-handedly kick-started the gearless scooter revolution in India. In India, the word "scooter" is synonymous with Honda Activa. It's sales numbers speak volumes for the same.

Activa 5g is an almost perfect scooter for a family. It is quite reliable and robust and is built to last. It has a metal body which makes repairing dents easy. Activa has the most refined 110 cc engine available in the market. There are scooters that are faster but they are nowhere near Activa's smoothness. It accelerates linearly. The engine is quite torquey and is quite nimble. It is good for a top speed of 80 kmph but the engine loses breath beyond that. The scooter is comfortable to ride and the seat is roomy. It is reachable to both men and women. The mirrors provide a good view of what's behind. It is a light scooter but there are scooters that are lighter.

The activa 5g, despite all this, misses some really important tech. It is quite barebones when it comes to features. It has an LED headlight but it lacks illumination. It has drum brakes on both ends which are sufficient if the scooter is ridden slowly. The brakes wear out quite fast on hard braking and the inclusion of a front disc in the future would be appreciated. It does not get telescopic front forks which almost all scooters get nowadays. As a result, it does not absorb shocks quite well. It gets 10-inch wheels on both ends which make it unstable at higher speeds. It gets a decent-sized boot but cannot fit a full-face helmet. Being a popular scooter, spare parts are available everywhere. The company claims a mileage of 60 km but in the city, it gives a mileage of 45 to 48 km. If ridden economically and slowly, one might be able to extract a little more mileage. It gets an analog speedometer, a fuel gauge and an odometer on the base variant and a digital readout on the top variant.

It is a good scooter for riding on well-made roads. Even though it lacks some features, at the end of the day only the comfort matters and Activa 5g scores high in comfort and practicality. It is the safest option in a market filled with different scooters but I wish Honda includes some features in future models like 12-inch wheels, telescopic suspension, a front disc brake, and an external fuel filler. With these features, it would become the undisputed king of the roads. Nevertheless, it is a good scooter if not the best and is still a great option.
