Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd (YMIS) is going to host a high-octane launch event at the BIC (Buddh International Circuit) on 11th August 2015. According to some reports, the company might launch its new entry-level performance motorcycle- YZF-R3 at this event. We also believe that it could be the main reason to organise this event at a race track.

The Yamaha R3 was spotted recently in the country, which was looking ready to launch. And TopGear India was also claiming that the bike will be launched in August 2015. So finally, the Indian enthusiasts seem to get their hands on this much-anticipated motorcycle soon.

Styled like a proper supersport motorcycle, Yamaha R3 is a track machine, which can be used for daily rides as well. Propelling the motorcycle is a 321cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor, coupled to a 6-speed transmission. Using an electronic fuel injection system, the engine makes 41.4bhp of maximum power and a peak torque of 29.6Nm. With a weight of 169 kg, it is an A2-licence category supersport bike.

Bolted on a slim and light diamond type frame, the R3 features telescopic front forks, adjustable mono-shock rear suspension, dual disc brakes with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and fat tubeless tyres. Looking at the features of the motorcycle, if it is priced above Rs. 3 lacs, it will compete with the Kawasaki Ninja 300 but if it gets price tag of under Rs. 3 lacs, its direct rival will be the KTM RC 390.

      OG edition
One of the best . The riding feel is tremendous. It feels like floating . Sometimes the wrist hurts with a pillion but a very comfortable and powerful vehicle for long drives . Covered 500kms in 6 hours with couple of breaks in between. The power of the bike even in 6th gear was astonishing . Happy to ride this beast.
