Vida VX2 vs Vida V2: Top 5 Biggest Differences Compared

Hero MotoCorp’s electric two-wheeler division, Vida launched its VX2 family e-scooter a few months back. It offers a good range, decent features, likeable looks and is available at a much more affordable price. However, the Vida V2 is also on sale and offers a bit more features than the VX2, but what else does it offer when compared to the VX2? Here are the top 5 differences between the Plus variants of these two e-scooters.

Design

While the Vida VX2 and V2 share a modern and youthful design language, there are a few bits that differentiate them visually. The V2 looks more premium with sharper lines, has nicer looking  body panels and a sleeker stance, appealing more to urban riders. Vida has given the V2 a bit more mature colour palette which will be appreciated more by the older audience. 

In comparison, the VX2 carries a slightly bolder, more playful character with smooth edges and a more likeable design, making it look quite good for daily usage while still retaining a fresh and appealing appearance. It is available in seven striking colour options which suit this e-scooter’s smooth lines.

Features

The Vida VX2 and V2 differ mainly in the features they offer. The VX2 focuses on providing the right set of features at the right price. It comes with all-LED lights, a 4.3-inch TFT console, smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts, regenerative braking and 3 ride modes: Eco, Ride, Sports.

On the other hand, the V2 feels a bit more premium with a larger 7-inch TFT touchscreen console, with better orientation, smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and SMS/call alerts. Other important features include keyless functions, cruise control and regenerative braking. 

Practicality 

The Vida VX2 is a more practical e-scooter as compared to the V2. It comes with a bigger 27.2-litre underseat storage and a convenient 6-litre front storage compartment. It also gets comfort-oriented touches like a slightly raised pillion seat  and a pillion backrest. 

On the other hand, the Vida V2 comes with a slightly smaller 26-litre underseat storage, and also misses out on a pillion backrest.

Motor Performance And Battery Pack

The Vida VX 2 Plus’ motor makes 3.9kW (rated, 6kW peak), and is mounted on the swingarm. It is powered by two removable batteries that make 3.4kWh (combined). This allows the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 40kmph in 3.3 seconds, and have a top speed of 80kmph (both claimed). It has a claimed range of 143km. 

The motor output of the Vida V2 Plus is the same, however, this one is a hub-mounted motor. While its acceleration is marginally slower, taking 3.8 seconds (claimed) to get from 0 to 40kmph, it has a higher claimed top speed of 85kmph. Its claimed range is only slightly lower at 142km. 

This makes the VX2 Plus better for zippy urban sprints, while the V2 Plus suits best for slightly longer, and more relaxed commutes.

Price And Verdict

The Vida VX2 Plus is Rs 10,010 more affordable than the V2 Plus, and with BaaS it becomes a whopping Rs 34,810 more affordable. With such a significant price difference between these e-scooters, the VX2’s lack of a bigger TFT console, and keyless ignition can be ignored if you want a really affordable scooter. There is not a big difference between these scooters in terms of the overall claimed range either. This leaves the pricing, features, and design, the deciding factor while choosing between these Vida e-scooters.
