The two names have been trademarked by the Japanese brand in India

[UPDATE: Honda has launched the CB350 H'Ness (Highness) in India. Head here for the price and other details regarding the launch.]

Honda is set to launch its retro-styled cruiser on September 30. It comes with a characteristic long-stroke single-cylinder air-cooled exhaust note. Expect the bike to be priced at around Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

Honda is all set to enter the retro segment with an all-new motorcycle on September 30. Going by the exhaust note which was teased earlier, it is likely to be a cruiser with a single-cylinder long-stroke air-cooled engine. The upcoming Honda cruiser is likely to be called H’Ness or Highness as both these names have been trademarked in the country by Honda. If you ask us, both these names don’t exactly feel appealing, to be honest.

Interestingly, the Japanese brand has also trademarked the name ‘Rebel’ here. But it hasn’t specified whether it’s a 300 or the 500. So there’s still a possibility of this bike being called the Rebel here. It is also worth noting that Honda has had the habit of trademarking names of its products quite often in India. Even Honda’s only aircraft - the HondaJet Elite, and Honda’s concept scooter, the Benly e have been trademarked here. It may not necessarily mean that the products that have been trademarked here will be launched in the country. They may have been done to avoid legal copyright troubles over the names in other markets.

The upcoming Honda cruiser’s design is likely to be inspired by the Honda CB 1100 EX. For a more detailed analysis about the bike’s features and engine details, check this out. Expect the motorcycle to be priced between Rs 1.85 lakh and Rs 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom). At this pricing, it will be able to compete directly against the Royal Enfield Classic 350, the biggest leader in the mid-capacity retro segment.
