Royal Enfield’s Himalayan, their upcoming adventure motorcycle, has been photographed on the company’s production line suggesting it to be the final version going in. Although, we still expect it to have a half-fairing for a more purposeful appearance and wind deflecting functionality by the time it is launched.

As it can be seen, the engine looks all-new and is likely to be a 410cc unit producing around 28BHP of power and 32NM of torque. Also, the suspension travel at both front and rear looks absolutely suited for off-road duties and especially for places like Leh. The tyres are dual purpose as well fitted on the spoke rims of what appears to be 21 inches and 17 inches in size for front and rear respectively.

An all new motorcycle from the ground up, Himalayan will be RE’s first motorcycle to have a mono-suspension at the rear. What is even more interesting is that it appears to be the link-type mono-suspension and not the conventional setup where the shocker is directly connected to the swing-arm. The link-type setup shall provide better performance in all riding conditions.

Lastly, we hope that RE would put projector lamps for headlight (like in the Thunderbird models) since it is likely to be used as a tourer extensively. The Himalayan is expected to be priced around 2 Lakhs mark.

Powerful And Classy

The bike is amazing both in feel and ride. Long distances don’t feel like it. The only issue is the heating of the bike while riding in the city, but on highways, it just feels amazing.Read More
